This match is a do-or-die game for the Salem Spartans team led by Abhishek Tanwar. They are going into this game with a big 7-wicket loss against Siechem Madurai Panthers. The game saw a terrible batting performance for the Salem Spartans as they were bowled out for a small total of 98 runs in this match. Abhishek Tanwar will be expecting a much-improved performance from his players in this all-important match. The opening ball bowlers Akash Sumra and Amit Sathvik will have to deliver the goods with the new balls and place their team in an advantageous position.

Maan Bafna, S Abhishek, and Kaushik Gandhi are all good players but they have to contribute heavily to the Salem middle order. The team management will also be hoping for a good show from the Salem lower middle order from the likes of Adnan Khan, Gowri Sankar, and Tanwar himself. Tanwar is also an experienced bowler in the T20 format. He will be looking for early wickets together with Sunny Sandhu. The all-rounder Sunny Sandhu will also have to contribute with the bat. He did look good for a while in the last game but failed to convert the start into a big score.

Lyca Kovai Kings

The Lyca Kovai Kings team is going into this contest with 3 victories in a row earlier in the tournament. They beat Dindigul Dragons by a margin of 59 runs in their last encounter and as a result, are sitting pretty on top of the TNPL points table. A win here will get them close to a berth in the next round of the TNPL. The Lyca team will need a good start from players such as Suresh Kumar and S Sujay who did a good job in their last matches. The main man for<br /> Lyca Kocai Kings has been Sai Sudarshan though. He has been in a stupendous form of late.

Sai Sudarshan will take charge of the middle order with the likes of U Mukilesh and Ram Arvindh. Batters such as M Mohammed and Shahrukh Khan add more substance to the Lyca batting lineup. As a result, there is good depth to the Lyca batting order. The bowlers that did a good job for Lyca in their last match are Manimaran Siddharth and Thamarai Kannan. The Lyca team will be expecting quick wickets from these bowlers again as the Spartans batters struggle with movement. Other bowlers such as Valliappan Yudheeswaran gave away far too many runs in the middle overs.

Manimaran Siddharth made a slow start to the competition however, he has succeeded in picking up 5 wickets in his last two appearances for LKK. The 29-year-old medium-fast bowler Gowtham Thamarai Kannan just bowled 19 balls in the last match however, he proved to be the main threat to the opposition in this contest. The Lyca Kovai Kings team is in top form at the moment and win in the contest will take them to their 4th victory in the TNPL 2023. If Sai Sudarshan continues on his merry ways this possibility is very much on the cards.
