St Lucia Kings
St Lucia lost to the Jamaica Tallawahs and then beat the Barbados Royals earlier this month. This was followed by a washout with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. It has been a busy period for the team from Gros Islet, who will want to finish their home stretch strongly before the competition moves to other parts of the Caribbean.
All-rounders Roston Chase and Sean Williams have emerged as the early leading run-scorers for the Kings, while the form of captain Faf du Plessis could be better. Du Plessis is going through a bit of a lean patch, but this match against the Patriots could be his cue to come good again.
With four wickets in two matches each, Chase and seamer Matthew Forde have spearheaded the Kings' push with the ball. Forde was a particularly impressive against the Royals recently, claiming figures of three for 12 in three overs. If he can couple economy with consistent breakthroughs again, Forde could be key to the downfall of the Patriots' batters.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
The Patriots will go into this match on the back of a taxing affair against the Trinbago Knight Riders. Batters Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Fletcher were St Kitts and Nevis' top run-scorers last CPL season and more of the same - and better - is required from them this time.
With top positions on the points table up for grabs during the early stage of the tournament, this is a good chance for the Patriots to get ahead of other teams. They were perennial underachievers from the start of the CPL in 2013 before winning the title for the first time in 2021.
They no longer have all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, was captained them to the title two years ago, but the recruitment of Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu is a big boost for the patriots. Rayudu's experience at international level and in the Indian Premier League should add plenty of value.

SLK vs SNP Toss Prediction
The general trend in CPL matches at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium has been to bowl first and chase later. Over the past two seasons, this decision has yielded plenty of wins for the team batting second.
Recently, though, St Lucia showed there is merit in batting first. They totalled 201 for six on a fresh pitch and then limited Barbados' chase to 147 all out. The pitch evidently got slower throughout the pursuit.
If St Lucia win the toss here, they will likely choose to bat first again. If St Kitts call the side of the coin correctly, they might just take their cue from the Kings' recent approach.

Fast bowler Chris Sole has taken a wicket in each of St Lucia's first three matches of the 2023 CPL. He has bowled well in challenging conditions and looks a good bet to be the Kings' top bowler in this match.
Rutherford was the Patriots' second-highest run-scorer last CPL season and was in fine form for the Montreal Tigers in the Global T20 Canada recently. This could be his chance to get back into the West Indies' limited-overs squads.
The 2023 CPL has only yielded two half-centuries so far. Conditions have allowed batters to get good starts, but then not necessarily convert to 50 and beyond. This could well be the case again.
