Not many would have expected India to be missing from the Asia Cup final before the tournament started, primarily for two reasons. One - India have a solid history in this competition having won the tournament seven times. Two - India were coming off fantastic form in the tournament. Now that they are not here, the focus will be on the other two Asian Giants - Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka were the two best sides in the competition and have consequently made it to the grand finale. The two sides met in a dress rehearsal recently and Sri Lanka emerged on top with quite some margin. This upcoming match is to be played on 11th September 2022 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka got off to the worst-possible start to the competition, losing their opening group game to Afghanistan and were, at one time, struggling to qualify for the next round. A win over Bangladesh and a few other results falling their way meant a spot for Sri Lanka in the next round.
In the super-four round, Sri Lanka played like absolute beast, defeating all the three teams they faced with disdain. They played their best against Pakistan in the last league match and will be looking to continue building on that.
All in all, Sri Lanka are peaking just at the right moment and will be itching to get a tournament win under their belt. They have a pretty good side and if they are able to play to their potential here, getting past them could prove to be incredibly difficult.

Pakistan
Just like Sri Lanka, Pakistan were pretty ordinary in the group stage, losing to India and then posting a big win over Hong Kong. They would have hoped for some improvement in the super-four stage, but apart from a win over India, there wasn't a lot to highlight for Pakistan.
Pakistan have blown hot and cold with the bat and that will be the problem to solve for them in this upcoming contest as well. Barring Mohammad Rizwan, no one has scored consistently enough for them. Babar Azam's form too will be a matter of concern.
On the bowling front, however, Pakistan have done an excellent job and will rely heavily on the bowlers to keep Sri Lanka at bay. If their batsmen are able to come as good as they did against India, Sri Lanka will have their work cut out.
