Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka will be quietly confident of going into this third ODI. It has managed to recover from poor starts with the bat to end up with very good totals in both matches. It has also been able to spin a web around the India batters even though some of its best players have been unavailable for selection.
The runs from the lower order, particularly Wellalage, will give confidence to the Sri Lankan top order. They will be able to play with more freedom and look to attack the Indian bowlers. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis will once again be the most important batters for Sri Lanka.
Runs from Avishka Fernando have also raised hope that Sri Lanka should be able to get to a decent total once more.
The real match-winning blow has come from the Sri Lanka spinners so far and that is unlikely to change. if Sri Lanka has to win, Vandersay, Wellalage, and Dananjaya have to play a central role. In fact, the part-time spin of Charith Asalanka has proven to be very dangerous as well.
The Sri Lanka pacers are too mediocre to have any impact.

India has been overconfident coming into this series. It expected to simply roll up and win but that has not been the case at all. Apart from Rohit Sharma, none of the other batters have been able to make any sort of impact. In fact, Axar Patel can lay claim to being the second-best batter for India in this series.
Players like Gill, Kohli, Iyer, Rahul, and even Dube have been inept against spin.
All of these batters are going to be tested against quality spin once more in this series. Will these batters fare differently this time around? It sees from the pattern of play that India is likely to get more runs in the first powerplay and then struggle against the spinners.
Betting against the middle order might be the way to go this time around.
India's bowlers will also be quite disappointed at not being to finish off the Sri Lankan innings after having them on the mat. Twice. Early wickets from Siraj and then regialr wickets from the spinners have given ways to easy runs being given away in the final third of the inning.
