SBW vs WFW Team Previews
Southern Brave Women
The Southern Brave had a great 2022 season but will be looking for revenge, as the Invincibles beat them in a very close Final with only 6 balls remaining.
There have been quite a few changes to the Brave squad this season, most notably Dunkley (193 runs in 2022) moving to the Fire and Wellington (17 wickets) switching to Manchester.
The good news is that Mandhana (211 runs) and Wyatt (177 runs) remain in the squad, as do Bell (11 wickets) and Adams (9 wickets). As well, there are exciting new additions to the team, including allrounder Chloe Tryon (South Africa) and pace bowler Maitlan Brown (Australia).
The season has already begun well for the Brave, with a convincing win over the Rockets thanks largely to Mandhana (55 runs) and Taylor (3 wickets).
Southern Brave Women Playing 11
Freya Kemp, Kalea Moore, Mary Taylor, Anya Shrubsole, Chloe Tryon, Danielle Wyatt, Georgia Adams, Maitlan Brown, Maia Bouchier, Rhianna Southby, Smriti Mandhana.
Welsh Fire Women
The Welsh Fire will be searching for better performances in this season’s campaign, as they had an awful 2022 season by finishing last with a 1-5 record.
Batting wasn’t a major problem for the Fire, as they had decent scorers like Beaumont (138 runs), Bryce (120), and Matthews (109). All three are back with the team, but at least there’s the addition of batter Laura Harris (Australia) to help the runs flow.
Bowling was certainly the low point for this squad, as they simply struggled to take wickets and limit the runs scored against them. Nicholas was the best bowler with 6/99 and thankfully she’s back in the team, but after that, it’s slim pickings. Carey is gone, but the Fire have added fast bowler Shabnim Ismail (South Africa) to improve the bowling.

SBW vs WFW Toss Prediction
The bowling can pick in speed in the second innings, therefore it is usually preferable to bat first in this situation. For T20 games, the side batting first has won 42/67 times, and scores of about 220 are not uncommon.

Pitch and Conditions
Early in the game, the Rose Bowl surface may be slower, which could force batters to make simple errors. Spinners are known to generate a lot of movement and spin, but skilled batters may rack up a lot of runs if they grasp the flight of the ball.
SBW vs WFW Betting Tips
It’s clear that the Brave are the favourite to win here according to 10Cric odds, and that’s a sensible bet to make. However, the odds aren’t too exciting and we think that the Fire are different enough from last season’s team to have a big change. The odds are much more interesting for the Fire, and new additions like Harris and Ismail will help.
The Fire will have a tough task to limit runs by the Brave batters like Mandhana and Wyatt, but Ismail and Nicholas should be up to the task. It won’t be easy, but there’s enough talent on this Fire team to forget 2022 and make 2023 an improved campaign.
Bet on the Welsh Fire to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Mandhana was the 5th-best scorer in the League last season and averaged 30.14 with a total score of 211. What's more, she already scored 55 runs in her first game this season, so it's a pretty safe bet to think she'll make over 22.5 in this match.
Although Beaumont is a good option after being the top scorer last season, we still prefer Harris for this match. The odds are much more interesting for Harris and there's a better money return. Harris is a highly experienced T20 batter and is familiar with big scores in the past, so it's a trustworthy bet.
Although we think the Fire will win, it's still hard to beat an opening partnership of Mandhana (averaged 30.14 in 2022) and Wyatt (25.28). They've been together for a few seasons and are some of the best hitters in the entire league. The odds are quite similar for both teams, so choose the Brave here.
