You really couldn’t ask for more from Mandhana, who picked up 70* in this game and 55 in the match before. She had an epic opening partnership with Wyatt (67 runs) and it’s a bit of a shock that these two couldn’t get the win alone. The next three batters combined for just 19, which does explain the loss.
The Brave really lost the game in the first innings, as their bowling was far too lax. The team is starting to miss Wellington and her lethal bowling attacks (not to mention her 17 wickets). Shrubsole was especially bad with 0/42, but Brown and Taylor also went without a wicket. Adams may have picked up one wicket, but also gave up 38 runs.

Northern Superchargers Women
Although the Superchargers finished in 5th place last season, they’ve had a great start in 2023 with a convincing victory over the Phoenix by 7 wickets (22 balls remaining).
The loss of their best run-scorers, Wolvaardt and Healy, didn’t appear to bother the team at all, as we saw good performances from overseas stars like Litchfield (42 runs) and Rodrigues (16 runs). Captain Armitage made just 13 runs, but the Superchargers batted second and only had to reach 111 runs to win.
The Superchargers’ bowlers really saved the day, as they limited the Phoenix to 110 runs in 100 balls. Davidson-Richards was the best bowler last season with 7 wickets, but her bowling versus Birmingham was truly special, as she took a huge 3/20 and prevented the opposing batters from getting easy runs. Indeed, apart from Devine’s 46 runs, the next-best scorer was Freeborn with 14.

Batting first is usually the preferred option here, as the pitch can be more unpredictable and faster later on in the contest. Historically, more teams win when batting first and this wouldn’t be unusual to be the case again.

Pitch and Conditions
The Rose Bowl is often kind to spin bowlers, thanks to a lot of movement and turn, but experienced batters will handle this if they are patient enough. The ball can be slower than one expects, which can throw off some batters, so bowlers can use this to their advantage.

The Superchargers have the better Parimatch odds, but not by much. We feel still quite confident in the batting abilities of Mandhana and Wyatt from the Brave, as they are both playing on a different level. If the Brave can simply get their bowlers to produce less simple deliveries and really challenge opposing batters, then they’ll easily get the win like in the first game.
Mandhana and Wyatt will have to be careful when the Superchargers’ Davidson-Richards is bowling, as she’s a huge threat, but otherwise there’s no one they can’t handle.

Bonus Cricket Bets
Although Mandhana is scoring far more runs right now, we still like the odds more for Wyatt. Plus, Wyatt has also done incredibly well so far, with 27 & 67 in her first two matches. There's a strong chance she'll average around 25 runs like last season, but she's just getting warmed up.
Adams had 9 wickets for the season in 2022, but she can certainly do better. Her odds are fantastic and now's the chance to bet on her. She has 3 wickets already and she can improve throughout the season.
Those are great odds for a really talented batter. Rodrigues gets a lot of attention, but don't forget about Litchfield, especially as she scored a huge 42* in her first game. She also scored 106* in a recent ODI match for Australia, so don't miss the chance to bet.
