Tazmin Brits and Anneke Bosch gave the South African team a good start but once they both lost their wickets, the rest of the team crumbled. Not having Laura Wolvaardt in the middle and a few of their experienced players having retired is hurting the South African team massively.
Their batting is more brittle than in a very long time and we are not sure the market has taken that into account.
Sune Luus, Delmi Tucker, and Nondusimo Shangese all need to step up and ensure that they are making more of a contribution.
The bowling attack for South Africa is also quite inexperienced. Tumi Sekhukhune, Masabata Klaas, and Nonkululeko Mlaba bowled tidily but they did not have the menace that we associate with the South African bowling lineup.
While home conditions are in it's favor, South Africa will have got a real wake-up call after the opening match.

Bangladesh Women have really improved their game in the last 12 months or so. Impressive wins against India, Pakistan, and now South Africa have shown that the team is progressing at a rapid rate. This is something that the we love to see as it brings the entire game of cricket a lot closer together.
Murshida Khatun and Nigar Sultana played very responsibly in the previous match to set up a strong first inning total. Shamima Sultana and Sobhana Mostary were also quite impressive. With Nahida Akter also in the lineup, Bangladesh Women have a very decent batting unit.
The confidence of having scored runs freely in the opening match would have given them a fair bit of confidence as well.
Traditionally, Bangladesh has struggled to score enough runs to give its bowlers the support they needed. Off-late, though, that has changed and so the bowlers are also more effective. Shorna Akter ended up picking five wickets, Rabeya Khan was impressive, and every other bowler also kept things tight.
Surely another victory or perhaps a historic series win is within touching distance of Bangladesh Women.
