Karachi will head into this match in the wake of defeat to the Multan Sultans. This and other results pushed the Kings to the very bottom of the PSL standings. Here is their opportunity to bounce back in their early pursuit of this year's tournament title.

The Kings were only able to take two wickets against the Sultans. They need to improve their bowling exploits - and can insist on better performances collectively and individually. Mir Hamza and Daniel Sams took a wicket each last time out - and could be instrumental this time, too.

Sams is one of the best left-arm seamers in domestic T20 cricket around the world. As a burgeoning all-rounder, he can add value with the bat as well. Look forward to a big performance from Sams. In a T20 World Cup year, he's pushing for a return to the national team.

Batting-wise, Karachi can lean on Shoaib Malik and Shan Masood. Malik hit a half-century in his previous innings and Masood, as teh captain, will want to lead from the front. They also have West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who can put in big hits almost at will.

Zalmi will also go into this match after recent defeat. They lost to the Quetta Gladiators and are only one position above the Kings on the PSL points table. Peshawar have a lot of talent in their XI and depth in the squad, but this needs to translate to results on the field.

Their biggest bowling asset is surely Salman Irshad. He has played in the Caribbean Premier League and other global leagues. With a slingy action and good pace, Irshad can pose a real threat. He took three important wickets against the Gladiators recently.

Captain Babar Azam is Zalmi's captain and their leader in every sense. He hit a half-century in the previous fixture and should open the batting again. In the powerplay, Azam has the prowess and ability to really capitalise. Rovman Powell and Saim Ayub are good complements to Azam.
