Perth Scorchers

The Scorchers season-opener against the Renegades was washed out due to rain, forcing them to share points. However, the team has won two consecutive matches after that and is comfortably placed in the top 4.

The Scorchers, latest win came on Saturday as they defeated the Hobart Hurricanes by 9 wickets. Zak Crawley, who was playing his first match of the season, was in sublime form as he scored an unbeaten half-century. He is likely to open the batting alongside Cooper Connolly.

Aaron Hardie, who was the top scorer of the tournament in BBL 12, has continued with his good form, scoring 125 runs. With the presence of Josh Inglis, Ashton Turner, and Laurie Evans in the middle order, we can expect another strong batting performance from the team.

Jason Behrendorff has been in brilliant form with the ball, picking up 7 wickets in 2 innings. He will be part of a potent seam attack along with Jhye Richardson and Andrew Tye. Ashton Agar, who was very economical in the last match, is likely to be the specialist spinner.

Melbourne Renegades

After playing 4 matches, the Renegades are still searching for a win in BBL 13. Thanks to the points they shared with the Scorchers, they are 7th on the table. But with just 6 more matches to play, their chances of making it to the top 4 are getting increasingly slim.

There is no dearth of talented players in the Renegades squad but they have failed to perform well as a unit. Joe Clarke and Quinton de Kock have the team a strong start in their latest match against the Hurricanes and will look to do so again.

Jake Fraser-McGurk is the leading run-scorer with 103 runs and will be an important player in the middle overs. Will Sutherland has been good with the bat and the ball, scoring 70 runs and picking up 3 wickets. However, the team will expect more from their most experienced campaigners, Nic Maddinson and Aaron Finch.

Tom Rogers and Kane Richardson will start the proceedings with the new ball. They have picked up 3 wickets each. The spinner attack consists of Adam Zampa and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

PER vs MLR Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Perth Stadium is one of the quickest and bounciest in Australia and the seamers will be quite effective with the new ball. The batsmen will need to tread carefully during the first few overs. However, as the ball gets older and softer, things get better for the batsmen. A score of around 180 is a par score. There is limited help for the slower bowlers.

The weather is likely to be pleasant with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius.

PER vs MLR Betting Tips

The Perth Scorchers are among the strongest teams in the league. They have been clinical in both of their wins so far. On the other hand, the Renegades have struggled to perform as a unit and will find it difficult to bounce back.

    Highest Opening Partnership

    Melbourne Renegades (1.80)

Both, Quinton de Kock and Joe Clarke got a good start in the last match as they put up 78 runs for the opening wicket. On the other hand, the form of Cooper Connolly hasn’t been the best for the Scorchers. We are therefore backing the Renegades to put up the bigger partnership.

  1. Parimatch

    Highest Individual Score

    Over 65.5 (1.85)

The pitch at the Perth Stadium is good to bat on, especially in the second half. As both teams have some quality batsmen, we can expect at least one of them to play a big inning.

Jason Behrendorff to Pick Up Over 1.5 wickets

Behrendorff is in excellent form with the ball, picking up 7 wickets in 2 matches. As the pitch at Perth is quite helpful to the seamers, we are backing him to bowl another good spell in this match.
