The Punjab team is being led by Shikhar Dhawan and they did well to win the last game they played. However, the Punjab captain will be worried by the batting form shown by his batters. Although Prabhsimran Singh performed several heroics in the game there was little contribution from other batters. Dhawan will look for a far better effort from the batters as they look to keep their chances of a place in the playoffs alive by winning this match. They will need to approach this game positively and register a victory by a large margin.
In his last appearance for Punjab Kings, Prabhsimran Singh scored a match-winning century. He will be keen to continue his match-winning form in this game and try to establish a strong foundation together with the skipper Shikhar Dhawan near the top of the batting order. Liam Livingstone has not been able to justify his potential. He will have to add more runs near the middle order together with Sikandar Raza and Jitesh Sharma. Other crucial batters in this line-up are Rishi Dhawan, Shahrukh Khan, and Sam Curran.
