The Northern Brave women have also made a disastrous start to their campaign in this year's Super Smash for women. They ended up losing the first encounter and as a result, have been relegated to 4th position in the points table at the moment just above Otago Sparks. Caitlin Gurrey was the leading run-getter for Northern Brave women as she put together 66 runs at a strike rate of 137. she struck 11 fours during her innings. Sam Barriball also scored 32 runs albeit a bit slowly at a strike rate of 100.

The best bowler on the scene for Otago Sparks women was Lucy Boucher. She managed to pick up a couple of wickets in the match while bowling at an average of 10 and an economy rate of 7. The Northern Brave women played their last match against Canterbury women. They had to face a loss in this game by a margin of 14 runs. Batting first, Canterbury women scored 146 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The Northern Districts' women's team responded with 132 for 9 to this target. Canterbury women raised this score thanks mainly to the efforts of their skipper Amy Satterthwaite who smashed 73 runs from 52 balls with 9 fours and 1 six.

The pick of the bowlers for Northern Brave women in this match was Lucy Boucher with 2 wickets for 21 runs from her 3 overs. Phoebe Graham also picked up 2 wickets but she gave away 35 runs from her 4 overs. Other successful bowlers for Northern Brave women were Amanda Jade Wellington and Nensi Patel who picked up a wicket apiece. Nensi Patel also bowled pretty economically in the match. Northern Brave women got off to a flier and were 110 for 1 at one stage. Caitlin Gurrey was superb hitting 66 from 48 balls with 11 fours. But the Brave innings lost their way after the start and too many wickets fell from the middle and lower middle order. They ended up finishing 14 runs short in the end.
