NZ vs IND Match Prediction - Nov 22, 2022

India won the second T20 international against New Zealand and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Since the first match was rained-out, India cannot lose the series. We got a great glimpse into the style of captaincy that Hardik Pandya may adopt and he indicated a couple of changes could be likely for the third match.

New Zealand was playing its first-choice eleven but still suffered a massive defeat. Kane Williamson's place in the team will be under some scrutiny as his style of T20 cricket is becoming extinct. A lot of sub-plots to look forward to in this third T20.

The odds have evened out and currently, most of the top cricket betting sites in the world are giving New Zealand and India almost identical odds.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for New Zealand vs India 3rd T20 2022. The match is going to be played at McLean Park, Napier on the 22nd of November 2022.

NZ vs IND Team Previews

New Zealand

New Zealand did decently in the previous match except for whenever they came up against Suryakumar Yadav. Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers with a brilliant last over and a hat trick to show for his efforts. Apart from him, everyone else was expensive or ineffective.

Moving towards a high-scoring venue in Napier, New Zealand will be a bit concerned with its bowling effort.

New Zealand had a big score to chase and once it lost Finn Allen on the second ball of its inning, the rest of the batters never got started. Kane Williamson played 52 deliveries and scored just 61 runs. That was a match-losing effort as just could not find the boundaries often enough.

Devon Conway also struggled against the Indian new ball bowlers. We are not convinced New Zealand has the right sort of batting combination just yet and it needs to show a lot more intensity in this next match.

New Zealand Playing 11

Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson.

India

India picked a surprising team for the second match. Two left-handers opened the batting for India in T20 cricket after 10 years as Rishab Pant and Ishan Kishan walked out. Pant struggled and surely someone like Sanju Samson would be getting restless waiting in the wings. We hope he gets his chance in this next match but Pant is likely to continue.

The best batter on the night was SKY who underscored his place as the best T20 batter in the world. He reached 50 from 32 balls and then accelerated to 111 off 51 deliveries. He helped India reach a score that was above par and ensured that the bowlers always had the upper hand defending the total.

Shreyas Iyer in the middle order did not score too many but the intent with which he started was impressive. We think he could be in line for a big inning. Deepak Hooda did not get much time to bat but we are not sure he is the best option for number 6.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh were excellent with the new ball. They got almost twice the amount of swing that the New Zealand bowlers did. Mohammad Siraj followed up with a brilliant bowling performance and it helped that all of the spinners had a good day as well.

Hardik Pandya did not bowl himself but he very well could if he is required to. India has Umran Malik waiting in the wings and we would love to see him get a game in place of someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar to help his development as a player.

India Playing 11

Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, YS Chahal.

NZ vs IND Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss would like to field first. The venue is quite high-scoring and defending a score may be tricky.

Pitch and Conditions

There is some rain in Napier but the forecast appears to be good right now around the time that the match is expected to be played. We could have some interruptions but hopefully, nothing that will affect the duration of the match. There have been four international matches played here and only Bangladesh has failed to score more than 150. They ended up losing on both those occasions.

Something around 170 should be seen as par.

NZ vs IND Betting Tips

We are going to bet back India to win this match as well. The form of SKY is an obvious advantage for India but we think they have also picked a team that is more dynamic in batting than what New Zealand is capable of. The effectiveness of the Indian spinners is also likely to continue and that could help India win again.

Bet on India to win.

We saw SKY smash a century in the previous match but none of the other batters got going on either team. Napier has a history of producing high-scoring matches and there have been 8 50+ scores in the four T20 internationals played there. With the batting talent on display, there is a good chance that we could see 67.5 breached this time as well.

The team picked for the first match was one packed with six-hitters. SKY alone hit more than 6.5 sixes in the previous match. To get a potential 80% return on your stake is just too good to pass on.
