NOS vs MAO Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Aug 13, 2023
After going 4-4 in 2022, the Superchargers are looking much better, as they are currently second in the Men’s Hundred with a 2-0 record (with one No Result). The Originals, meanwhile, may have had a great 2022 season with a 5-3 record and losing to the Rockets in the Final, but they have some catching up to do – the Originals are currently 1-2 (with one NR) and are 6th on the table.
Northern Superchargers vs. Manchester Originals will be played at Headingley, Leeds, on August 13th. Keep checking our OCB homepage so that you don't miss any cricket game.
NOS vs MAO Team Previews
Northern Superchargers
The Superchargers may have a bit of a problem now that top scorer, Matthew Short (81 runs), is out of the squad to join Australia against South Africa. Still, it will just mean that Brook will have to bat to the next level (he’s had a duck and a great 63* effort) and Banton (44 runs) can’t hide in the shadows.
Topley has been the most consistent bowler in the team so far, with at least one wicket per match and 6 overall. Parnell has been interesting with 5 wickets, but Matthew Short’s spin bowling is also going to be missed, as he already picked up 2 wickets.
Northern Superchargers Playing 11
Adam Hose, Adil Rashid, Brydon Carse, Callum Parkinson, David Wiese, Harry Brook, Matthew Short, Reece Topley, Saif Zaib, Tom Banton, Wayne Parnell.
Manchester Originals
If the Originals are going to have a chance this season, then it’ll be down to Buttler, who is already crushing the league with 165 runs (55.00 average) thanks to his aggressive and reliable batting.
The team will need more help from opener Salt, who only has 25 runs in four games. Salt had 353 runs last season, so we know he’s capable of much more. We also want to see bigger shots from Turner, as he’s chipping in with good totals (51 runs), but he’s not scoring fast enough and the Originals can’t afford to wait around with just 100 deliveries!
The bowling has been fine so far, with Little (5/75) and Hartley (4/44) taking most of the wickets, but we want to see more consistency from spinner Mir (2/75), who is usually excellent in T20 cricket.
Manchester Originals Playing 11
Ashton Turner, Ben Raine, Joshua Little, Josh Tongue, Jos Buttler, Jamie Overton, Laurie Evans, Philip Salt, Paul Walter, Tom Hartley, Usama Mir.
NOS vs MAO Toss Prediction
Any team who wins the toss will almost certainly prefer to bowl first in order to use the pitch to its full potential. The side batting first has won 39/63 T20 games.

Pitch and Conditions
Headingley is considered an exceptionally balanced pitch for short-over games, with considerable swing and bounce with the new ball. However, as the game develops, the pitch can slow down slightly, allowing batters to choose their strokes and time the ball's flight. In the second innings, spinners may also cause problems for batters.
NOS vs MAO Betting Tips
The Superchargers have been looking great so far, but we’re worried about the absence of Short and which batter can fill his shoes. Brook was useful in the Ashes series recently, but scored just 85 runs last year in the Hundred, so he may not be an amazing short-over player.
Buttler has been astounding for the Originals this year, but he can’t slow down now, as Salt hasn’t really stepped up yet and Turner needs to be more aggressive. If either of these two can help Buttler, then the Originals should easily get the victory. Plus, the Satbet odds are decent for the Originals.
Bet on the Manchester Originals to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Buttler has scored the most runs and is a safe bet, but his odds aren't very exciting. We like the idea of choosing Turner, as there's a chance of winning big money. He's been batting well enough with 51 runs and was great in the BBL earlier in the year.
He's got 66 runs already and has shown promise already with a big score of 41. He has a lot of experience in these types of games, so we trust Hose to score when it matters.
