Lancashire has performed well enough but also needs a boost in terms of their 4-4 record, but those four straight losses were quite unusual for a good team.

Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire faces a lot of batting issues right now, especially Vasconcelos missing several games due to an ongoing wrist problem. The South African star batsman had been in form and looking great with 198 total runs, but hopefully he’s in better shape after the break.
Lynn is the leading scorer with 210, but the majority of that is from his 110* against Leicestershire, because if you exclude that effort, then it’s just 41 runs from his last five matches. He’s great when attacking, but this approach often leads to early exits. Zaib has looked quite consistent lately with 199 runs, so Northamptonshire could well look to him to score.
For the bowling, spinner Freddie Heldreich has just become better and better, and is now leading the team with impressive stats of 14/183. 4/27 against Birmingham is the stuff of legend! To take so many wickets while keeping the opposition’s score low is commendable, especially for a spinner. Tye (12 wickets) is helping out when he can and his 2/9 against Birmingham is a step in the right direction, but he’s got to lower that ER of 9.54.

Lancashire
Lancashire’s four straight losses would normally be a worrying sign, but the games were all relatively close and some to great teams like Birmingham and Yorkshire. As well, the recent win over Worcestershire before the break really helped them out, even if that too was a narrow victory with three balls remaining.
Daryl Mitchell’s batting (275 totals runs) has been very reliable, but you’d still want him to be a bit more explosive. From his last four games, three have been in the 30s and one in the 60s, but if he can get back to the 85* form, then Lancashire can be more dominant and aim for bigger scores. Croft has been solid with 184 runs, but we like the recent performances of Buttler, who had 58 in the Worcestershire win.
The team could use a bowler that really strikes fear into the hearts of opponents, as currently there’s just no one to do that. Wood’s 10 wickets are fine, but he’s only had two wickets in his last five matches, which is cause for concern. The fact that de Grandhomme is the next-best bowler with seven wickets says a lot, and until someone steps up, then Lancashire will just be an average team.

NOR vs LAN Toss Prediction
Expect the team winning the toss to bat first, as 33 out of 58 games have been won when the captain selects batting first. The pitch is just too good for batters to pick any other possibility.

Pitch and Conditions
The Northampton pitch is great for batters, as they love the predictable bounce and fast outfield. Spinners have been known to get some movement, but they’ll have to be very skilled. It’s not uncommon to see large totals of around 220.

The Satbet odds suggest that Lancashire is the favourite here, but we still think that they’re not as good as everyone believes them to be. The four losses in a row speaks volumes, and Mitchell and Wood just aren’t playing spectacular cricket in their respective areas of batting and bowling.
Even though Northamptonshire are not exactly title favourites, just having Lynn on the side always gives them a chance at victory. He can go big and win it all for his team, and hopefully we get the better side of him in this match. You’d still like to see Vasconcelos back from injury, because they badly need him. Heldreich and Tye is an impressive bowling duo and can scare Lancashire.

Bonus Cricket Bets
It still puzzles us why Heldreich's odds are so low, but that's good for betting! He's taken at least three wickets in his last three games, so he's on a roll. His odds are better than Tye's, and we trust Heldreich more.
It's a bit hard to tell with Lynn, but if Vasconcelos isn't playing or is limited by injury, then Lynn has to be the man of the hour. He's had low scores at times, but he's trustworthy to at least score above 24.5.
The odds for Salt or Buttler are barely worth it, and there's no one else on the squad that could be the top batter besides Mitchell. He is the team's leading scorer with 275 runs and is consistent. He's not always making huge scores, but his 85* is proof that he can hit big when it matters.
