NL vs OMA Match Prediction - Jul 03, 2023

Netherlands will try to keep their dream alive of reaching the next stage of the ODI Cricket World Cup, while Oman will just have to hope for the best. The Netherlands has played well enough with a 1-2 record, and Oman has lost all three games in the Super Six.

Netherlands vs. Oman will take place at the Harare Sports Club on July 3rd. Check out all the betting odds from upcoming cricket matches.

NL vs OMA Team Previews

Although the Netherlands have done well to reach this far in the Super Six tournament, their progress is going to be tough with only two points. Still, it’s worth fighting because you never know.

The batters have been quite balanced and there’s a real team effort in the squad. Nidamanuru (172) and Singh (163) have helped out, but the bulk of the credit needs to go to Edwards (284) and O’Dowd (211).

It’s fair to say that O’Dowd really hurt Netherlands’ chances against Sri Lanka by scoring a duck, but it’s likely that Sri Lanka would have won that match in any case. Edwards is incredibly consistent, somehow scoring 67 runs in three consecutive matches… very freaky.

The bowling is a bit more top-heavy, with de Leede (10/233) and van Beek (9/218) doing the bulk of the work, then it starts to drop off from there. Netherlands will rely heavily on these two to get the victory, but they should be able to dispatch the Oman batters.

Netherlands Playing 11

Max O'Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Wesley Barresi, Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, Scott Edwards, Saqib Zulfiqar, Logan van Beek, Ryan Klein, Aryan Dutt, Clayton Floyd.

With zero points, there’s no way Oman is getting into the World Cup, but it’s still good to keep trying for progress.

Prajapati has probably been the most exciting batter with 194 runs, although most came from his 103 effort against Zimbabwe. Ilyas with 187 runs is certainly the most consistent, but apart from these two, there’s not so much in the way of skilled batters ready to take over a match.

Bilal Khan (10/255) and Butt (10/285) have bowled quite well throughout the tournament and have been capable of troubling the batsmen. Khan had one fantastic game of 5/55 versus Scotland. We worry that the Netherlands batters will score too many runs when these two bowlers have finished their overs.

Oman Playing 11

Kashyap Prajapati, Jatinder Singh, Aqib Ilyas, Sandeep Goud, Mohammad Nadeem, Ayaan Khan, Shoaib Khan, Suraj Kumar, Fayyaz Butt, Kaleemullah, Bilal Khan.

NL vs OMA Toss Prediction

Since the new ball on this pitch is quite hazardous, bowling first is usually a wise decision. In times when the pitch slows down, batting later is a better option.

Pitch and Conditions

Because fast bowlers tend to find this pitch with much bounce and swing, batsmen never benefit from it. The batsmen in the first innings can have a tough time from even the smallest error, therefore spinners find it hard to generate any turn. Expect an outcome of approximately 250 because the pitch doesn't typically provide the biggest scores.

NL vs OMA Betting Tips

Oman will have amazing Satbet odds, but we just can’t see them defeating a respectable side like the Netherlands. This Dutch team is determined to find a way to the World Cup, and even though it currently looks daunting due to the 6 points from Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, it’s still worth a try.

Edwards and O’Dowd should both make big scores, while de Leede and van Beek will be able to handle the Oman batters.

Bet on the Netherlands to win.

Bonus Cricket Bets

  1. Satbet

    Netherlands Top Batter: Scott Edwards

It's unusual to see Edwards' odds so high, as he's the top scorer for the Netherlands (284) and easily their most reliable. Now's the time to bet, as there's a great return on his odds. Plus, he's somehow scored 67 runs in three consecutive games!

  1. MostBet

    Oman Top Batter: Aqib Ilyas

It's been a while since Ilyas hit a huge score, but he's very reliable with 187 runs so far. He made 45 versus Zimbabwe, which are a hard side to bat against, so it's possible he can build on that performance and be more improved when he plays the Netherlands.
