NAM vs NL Match Prediction - Oct 18, 2022

Namibia shocked the cricketing world by inflicting a heavy defeat on Sri Lanka (Asia Cup 2022 Champions) in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2022. Now, Namibia has put itself in a prime position to qualify for the Super-12 stage of the World Cup.

Before it can start celebrating, though, it has to play two more matches. The Netherlands is up next and it also managed to win its opening match. That win was a lot less convincing, though.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Namibia vs Netherlands T20 World Cup 2022. The match will be played at the Simonds Stadium, Geelong on the 18th of October 2022.

NAM vs NL Team Previews

Namibia's core strengths were visible in their match against Sri Lanka. The middle order scored runs and the bowling attack stuck to its plans. This is exactly what Namibia will be hoping for this same in this match against the Netherlands with more of a contribution from the top order.

Not too many associate sides have a strong middle order like Namibia. Frylinck, Wiese, Erasmus, and Baard are all very good strikers of the ball. David Wiese, in fact, did not score a single run in the previous match but Namibia still managed to reach a decent total.

The bowling lineup was very disciplined. Wiese picked up two wickets, Shikongo came within a centimeter of picking a hat-trick, and Scholtz was very economical as well.

Michael Van Lingen, Divan la Cock, Stephan Baard, Gerhard Erasmus, Jan Frylinck, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Jonathan Smit, David Wiese, Zane Green, Bernard Scholtz, Ben Shikongo.

The Netherlands may have won its match against the UAE, however, that was not a convincing performance at all. They bowled well to restrict the UAE to 111 and then got home with just one ball to spare and three wickets in hand.

Batting is certainly not a strength for the Netherlands and the team can be put under pressure with a couple of quick wickets. The bowling is a bit better, though. Fred Klaassen, Tim Pringle, Bas de Leede, and Logan van Beek are one of the stronger bowling units in associate cricket.

If the Netherlands has to have a chance in this contest, it will be through their bowling.

Max'Dowd and Vikramjit Singh will have to play out of their skins to ensure the team scores enough runs, though. We don't see that happening and think this match is going to be a massive struggle for the Netherlands.

NAM vs NL Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss could choose to bat first unless there is some rain around. Both teams may want to set a target and make the other bat under scoreboard pressure.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather forecast in Geelong is quite good and we should not have too many interruptions. The pitch was a bit tricky to bat on in the first couple of matches at this venue. The scores were lower than expected and the ball did not really come on very well. That indicates we could have a match where 150-160 is a very good total once more.

NAM vs NL Betting Tips

We are going to back Namibia to win this match. It has a stronger batting lineup and it certainly has belief in its lineup. The Netherlands will believe its bowling can pull off an upset but we don't think that will happen. This match is likely to go Namibia's way.

Bet on Namibia to win.
