The Madurai Panthers were off to an excellent start this season as they defeated the Salem Spartans in an engaging encounter.
S Lokeshwar and Jagatheesan Kousik were in excellent form with the bat, scoring individual half-centuries in the last match. Their partnership of 79 runs set the base for the Panthers to chase down a challenging target of 181 runs.
While Hari Nishanth and U Sasidev didn’t contribute much, the Panthers boast of a long batting line-up thanks to all-rounders like Swapnil Singh, Murugan Ashwin, and NS Chaturved. Much will depend on Waseem Ahmed and Arjun Murthy and they will be hoping to get a good start with the bat. There are some quality players in the middle order as well, including Shyam Sundar, Jafar Jamal, and Tamil Dhileepan.
R Rajkumar is a quality all-rounder who can add valuable runs towards the death overs. K Easwaran bowled a brilliant spell in the last match, picking up 6 wickets, including a hat-trick.
