Manchester Originals Women
For the Originals to have Wolvaardt and Wellington on the team, it’s been a pretty disappointing season. Even if the Originals win, they can finish at best in fourth place with 8 points. Manchester has a 2-3 record (with two NR), but you have to feel they could have done more.
Dottin (108 runs) and Wolvaardt (101) have been decent enough, although considering Wolvaardt made 286 runs last season, it’s quite a poor effort this year. There just hasn’t been much batting help from the entire team, as Lamb (55), Wellington (66), and Morris (16) also haven’t stepped up when the team needed them the most.
Wellington was the top wicket-taker last year with 17, but she’s managed only four this season. Morris (8 wickets) and Ecclestone (7 wickets) have done okay, but you have to wonder why Wellington couldn’t bowl as well as she did last season.

Southern Brave Women
The Brave have simply been amazing this year, with a great 6-1 record and wins in their last five games. They are certainly the favourite to win the title, and what’s more, they still have something to play for in this match. The Fire and the Superchargers are close behind, so the Brave will want another win to be sure of the top spot. After all, the team with the best record gets to sit out the Eliminator game and simply wait for their challenger in the Final.
The team is miles ahead of everyone thanks to three standout batters, including Mandhana (226), Bouchier (217), and Wyatt (176). Even Adams has done exceedingly well with 109 runs, which is strange to think that the Brave’s fourth-best batter has still scored more runs than Wolvaardt. Bouchier is perhaps the team’s most reliable batter so far with a 36.16 average, and isn’t far behind Mandhana in terms of runs scored.
Not just good with the bat, Adams has also taken 15 wickets for 165 runs, mostly thanks to her 4/11 effort against the Spirit. She’s had fantastic support from Shrubsole (7 wickets) and Bell (5 wickets), which makes the Brave’s bowling lineup so deadly.

The Old Trafford pitch is a favourite for batters, and big scores have been made on this famous ground in the past.
