The Melbourne Stars were the bottom-ranked team last season. Their latest campaign hasn’t been off to a good start either as they lost to Brisbane Heat on the opening night. As they face the defending champions, the Stars have a tough job ahead of them.
Despite having a strong batting line-up, the Stars were unable to take advantage as they lost out to Brisbane by a massive margin of 108 runs. Tom Rogers and Sam Harper are likely to open the batting for them and will look to give the team a stable start.
There are some quality batsmen in the middle order, including Joe Burns, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis. With neither of them being a part of the upcoming Test match against Pakistan, they will be available for this match. The Stars are also home to all-rounders Hilton Cartwright and Liam Dawson, both of whom can strike some lusty blows.
