While the rivalry of the two sides is pretty new in Major League Cricket, the rivalry between the franchise is one of the biggest in the cricket world and we expect that to be seen on the field as well. This might well turn out to be the biggest match of the tournament.

MI New York
MI New York were one of the worst-performing sides in the league stage and thanks to the format of the tournament, they managed to sneak into the playoffs with just two wins from five matches. However, they would be fairly confident coming into this match as they have gathered momentum as we have gotten close to the playoffs.
MI New York will consider themselves fortunate after making it to the second qualifier inspire of not putting enough runs on the board while batting first. They were dismal with the bat in the eliminator but a few brilliant performances ensured that they move forward to what now will be a meeting with Texas Super Kings.
A good set of performances from Dewald Brevis, Tim David, and Trent Boult helped them eliminate Washington Freedom. MI now have three wins in the tournament, including two in the league stage, and will want to carry on with the momentum in their most important match so far.

Texas Super Kings
Texas Super Kings looked fantastic in the beginning of the tournament and were at the second-spot for most part. They finished with three wins from five matches in the league stage, at the second spot, only to lose to Seattle Orcas in the first quarter-final. None of their stalwarts fired with the bat as they could muster only an under-par total batting first.
On paper, the Super Kings showed the kind of strength they have with regular excellent performances. Having said that, the form of Faf du Pleases will definitely be of massive concern. Although unlikely, given the big match player he is, we might well see him sitting out in a surprise move. Devon Conway, on the other hand, has been in a superb touch and a lot will be riding on him for Texas Super Kings to do well.
The Super Kings will be disappointed with the way they performed in their last game, which was against the Seattle Orcas. Their bowlers were a complete no-show, as Orcas annihilated them by nine wickets and with five overs to spare. The Super Kings were also poor with the bat, as none of their batsmen could put up a chunky contribution, leaving them to defend a paltry total of 126. They would now have to put the qualifier defeat aside, as they have a job to do in the much-important upcoming qualifier against MI New York.
