Maharashtra may have missed out on a playoff spot last year, they are certainly not leaving any stone unturned to make sure that they get there this time. They have started off on a splendid note, winning both of their opening matches and will be looking to get to the top of the table with yet another win.
As it currently stands on the ladder, they are placed at the third spot on the ladder. Had it not been for their somewhat inferior net run-rate, they would have been at the top of the ladder. A win here will push them ahead of Puducherry and Railways, at the top of the table. They also have one match advantage over Railways and Puducherry and would want to keep it that way.
Just when they appeared to be a bit too over-reliant on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi, their middle-order came to their rescue to chase down a pretty good total against Mumbai. They have an immaculately balanced side with batting as well as bowling both covered well. If they can play to their on-paper potential here, Mumbai may well find it a lot difficult to get past Maharashtra here.

Mumbai
It’s not even been a month since Mumbai won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 title but they have certainly not been able to keep up their form across the formats. It’s not too late though as a win here will push them near the top of the table. They have a terrific side on paper and will want to utilize that to their advantage in this upcoming match.
As it currently stands on the points table, Mumbai are placed at the fifth spot with just one win from a total of two matches. Despite that, they have an excellent net run-rate of 0.765, which would come in handy later in the tournament. With experience available right through the batting order, Mumbai have one of the best batting units in the tournament.
The likes of Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal have already shown their capability at the top of the order and will be looking to make best use of that. Their bowling, however, looked a little flat in the previous match and they would want to get that in order. Given how they have played so far, they would need to raise their standards in both departments and if they are able to do that, they will certainly be a solid match for high-flying Maharashtra.
