London Spirit Women

The London Spirit women will be keen to secure their first victory of the season in The Hundred after a couple of their matches were abandoned. They lost their third game and as a result, they are languishing near the bottom of the points table. One of the things in their favor is that they are playing this match at their home. The London top-order batting is in the hands of players such as Heather Knight and Grace Harris and it will be critical for setting a stage for a big total. A few young players are playing on the London Spirit women's team and they lack the experience.

Although cricketing talent and capability have nothing to do with their age, the experience required matters. As far as this batting line-up is concerned, most of the run-scoring responsibilities will be shared by their top four batswomen. Richa Ghosh will be batting in the number 5 position and is certainly the batter to watch out for. Danielle Gibson and Sarah Glenn were pretty good with the ball in their last encounter. The right-arm leg break bowler Melie Kerr from New Zealand will be crucial for this bowling attack.

Although Kerr went wicketless in her last appearance, she can be quite a handful and can deliver well-timed breakthroughs for her team. The London Spirit bowling attack will be in the hands of Lauren Filer, Charlie Dean, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Sophie Munro, and Tara Norris. There are some useful all-rounders on the team such as Alice Monaghan, Niamh Holland, and Amelia Kerr. The wicket-keeping responsibilities will be in the hands of Richa Ghosh who also is a useful hand with the bat. 

Trent Rockets Women

The Trent Rockets women's captain will be disappointed at watching her team lose their last match during the chase, from a good position. The Trent Rockets women got off to a flyer and registered a 61-run opening wicket stand from just 44 balls. The chase was set up nicely by Bryony Smith who played an electrifying knock of 70 runs right at the top of the order. But the Trent Rockets' middle order collapsed when the opposition succeeded in dislodging the skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt for 2 runs from 9 balls.

The Rocket's middle order never appeared comfortable and their major stars such as the captain and Harmanpreet Kaur are also not scoring big runs expected of them. This two bat at numbers 3 and 4 position and will be looked upon to deliver the goods for the Rockets. These players played a crucial hand in the Trent Rockets' middle order in their last match as they chased a big target. The fact that the Rockets are forced to chase large targets also means their bowling is not doing their work properly.

Katherine Sciver-Brunt is the most successful bowling all-rounder on the team. But she was quite expensive against the Southern Brave women as she conceded 32 runs from 15 balls. She bounced back right away in her next match and bowled 9 dot balls to give away just 8 runs from 15 balls. However, the fact remains that Trent bowlers failed to provide consistent breakthroughs and put their opposition under a lot of pressure to restrict them to a gettable score. Some other good all-rounders that may get a game are Naomi Dattani, Joanne Gardner, and Alana King.
