Lucknow Super Giants
The Lucknow Super Giants will be buoyed by their recent success against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals and will be looking to emulate their success here.
The opening pair of KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers has done a good job till now, providing the team with good starts in most matches. Mayers is in particularly sublime form, scoring 3 half-centuries in 6 innings, and will once again look to score runs at a brisk pace. He is, in fact, keeping our Quinton de Kock from the starting eleven!
Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis have been pretty consistent, scoring important runs during the middle and death overs. However, the form of batsmen like Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, and Ayush Badoni isn’t the best this season. That is a weakness that LSG must address or it can come back to biute them later.
The seamers, including Naveen ul-Haq, Avesh Khan, and Marcus Stoinis bowled an excellent line and length in the previous match against a rampant Rajasthan Royals batting and played a pivotal role in defending a modest total, and that should give them plenty of confidence.
The spinners, Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra too have been pretty economical in the games played so far and will once again play a key role here.
LSG seems very well-suited to its home conditions and is certainly going to be tough to beat.

Gujarat Titans
After winning consecutive matches at the start of the season, the defending champions have struggled a bit in the last week as they lost 2 of their 3 most recent matches. As a result, they are struggling a bit to keep themselves in the top-4. But with more than half the season yet to go, they will be looking to come back strongly here.
Shubhman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have been in good form with the bat, with each of them scoring 2 half-centuries. They have received decent support from Vijay Shankar, who has played well in patches. However, the other top and middle-order batsmen will need to up their game if the Titans want to put up a better show.
Wriddhiman Saha has struggled in the opening slot, while David Miller and Hardik Pandya have been inconsistent lower down the order. The team does have good depth in their batting thanks to players like Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan, but they haven’t got much of a chance to showcase their talent.
One area where the Titans have an advantage is the bowling department. Their two main bowlers, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Shami, have picked up 21 wickets between them and will be hoping to put up another good show here. They will expect good support from other bowlers including Alzarri Joseph, Josh Little, and Mohit Sharma.
GT is a bowling-first team that will always be competitive but its batting is looking a bit vulnerable in IPL 2023 so far.

LSG vs GT Toss Prediction
The team winning the toss will be looking to bowl first here. Chasing teams have won two out of the three matches played in Lucknow so far.
Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow offers a balanced surface, providing for a more even contest between the bat and the ball. The average first-inning score here has been around 160, which is a par score. There are patches of grass that will help the seamers get some movement, while the spinners will target the dry areas.
Since it is a day match, the weather is expected to be warm with temperatures around the 35-degree mark.
If the pitch is on the slow side, it will bring in LSG's spinners and could trouble GT much more.
LSG vs GT Betting Tips
A look at the odds being offered on most reputed betting sites and the current form of both teams suggests that there is little separating the two at this stage. We agree with that assessment and think this is going to be a close match where in-play betting could be crucial to booking profits.
To start out, we are going to back the Lucknow Super Giants to win here. Their recent victory against the Rajasthan Royals should have done a world of good to their confidence and playing in front of a home crowd is always an advantage. As we mentioned, the conditions in Lucknow really favor the home team and could trouble GT.

Bonus Cricket Bets
So far, a four has been hit every 9.9 balls in Lucknow. This means that on average, we are seeing around 24 fours per match. That makes the Over/Under line a bit high and perfect for betting Under 28.5.
This is a risky bet but the rewards are very enticing. Bowling a maiden is rare but with the pitches getting slower, batters reluctant to start aggressively (like KL Rahul), a maiden being bowled is not out of the question. A small bet on this market would be the way to go.
The Ekana Stadium pitch isn’t the easiest to bat on and provides a more even contest between the bat and the ball. The bounce can be a bit inconsistent due to grass patches and there will be some movement for both, the seamers as well as the spinners, making it difficult for the batsmen to take them for runs.
