Leicestershire

Leicestershire is one of the most successful teams in the history of the T20 Blast, winning the title on 3 occasions. However, they have endured a rough journey so far this season. The team has lost 6 of the 7 matches that it has played so far and is sitting at the bottom of the points table.

However, they will take some solace from the fact that the solitary win has come against Durham in a reverse fixture and they will be hoping for a similar outcome here.

While it has been a pretty mediocre batting effort by the team, Rishi Patel has been the best performer among the lot with 178 runs. Nick Welch and Lewis Hill will be looking to give the team a good start here. Louis Kimber has played a couple of good innings so far, and more will be expected of him going forward.

Rehan Ahmed and Wiaan Mulder are the two all-rounders on the team but they haven’t played up to their full potential. Talking about the bowling, it is a similar story as none of the bowlers have been able to put up consistent performances. The seamers Naveen ul-Haq and Josh Hull have struggled to pick up wickets and have also been a bit expensive.

The spinners have done a slightly better job, with Callum Parkinson and Rehan Ahmed picking up 14 wickets between them. 

Durham

Durham faced their 3rd defeat in the last 5 matches as they lost to Nottinghamshire on Thursday. As a result, they have fallen out of the top 2 on the points table thanks to a poor NRR compared to teams like Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

Alex Lees and Graham Clark will be looking to give the team a good start here. While the duo has done a decent job so far, they will need to play some big innings going ahead to get their team a better chance of putting up big scores. Oliver Robinson has been a solid performer in the middle order, scoring 3 half-centuries in 6 innings, and will be the key for Durham here.

However, the other batsmen, including Bas de Leede and Ashton Turner have lacked consistency in their performances. Nathan Sowter has been brilliant with the ball for Durham this season. He picked up his second consecutive 4-wicket haul in the last match and has moved to the top of the list of top wicket-takers of the tournament.

The team does lack another quality spinner who can support Sowter in the middle overs. The pace attack will be led by Ben Raine, with Wayne Parnell and Brandon Glover playing the supporting role.
