Lancashire

Lancashire is currently in second place in the North Group points table. But with an extremely cluttered table, this is no time for them to rest. A win here will see them through to the quarterfinals, while a loss will leave their qualification at the mercy of other teams’ results.

The team will be delighted to see Jos Buttler, who had a relatively quiet season by his lofty standards, get some runs under his belt in Lancashire’s latest match, played against Derbyshire. Buttler slammed 83 of just 39 deliveries and stitched a 101-run partnership with Liam Livingstone to get his team to a match-winning total of 177.

Buttler will once again look to make a brisk start here with Phil Salt. The latter hasn’t been in the best of forms. The middle order has performed well, with the likes of Liam Livingstone, Steve Croft, and Luke Wells contributing runs at important stages.

All-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been a vital cog of the team, scoring 392 runs and also picking up 11 wickets. He has partnered well with Luke Wood in the seam department, while Livingstone and Luke Wells will feature in the spin department. 

Yorkshire

Yorkshire's latest match against Durham was washed away due to rain, forcing them to share points with their opponents. As they play their final group-stage match here, a loss will eliminate Yorkshire, while a win will give them a theoretical chance of making it to the quarterfinals.

Dawid Malan has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 546 runs so far, and is third on the list of top run-getter of the tournament. He has received decent support from his opening partner, Adam Lyth. But the batsmen in the middle order have struggled to score runs.

James Wharton, Shan Masood, and Jonathan Tattersall have been rather inconsistent, and have been one of the biggest reasons for the team’s poor run. Jordan Thompson has done an excellent job with the ball, picking up 20 wickets so far.

He has been well supported by Ben Mike and David Weise at the other end. The spinners however haven’t been in the best of forms as Jafer Chohan and Dom Bess have managed to pick up only 11 wickets between them.
