JMS vs GUY Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 17, 2022
The ongoing edition of the Super50 Cup in the West Indies is nearing its culmination, and Guyana will be facing Jamaica in the second semi-finals on Thursday.
According to most cricket betting sites, Jamaica holds a slight edge in this contest. But as Guyana is in good form too, one can find decent odds for both, if they compare a few good sites.
JMS vs GUY Team Previews
Jamaica Scorpions
Jamaica started its campaign on a sedate note, winning just 1 of its first 3 matches of the tournament. However, the team gradually picked up form and went on to win each of its last 3 matches, to finish at the top of the Zone B table.
Brandon King has been excellent for the team as an opener and has scored consistently well. With 261 runs, he is the top scorer for Jamaica this season. However, he hasn’t received much support from his partners. Jermaine Blackwood wasn’t so good and was replaced by Chadwick Walton. He too hasn’t seen much success thus far.
Rovman Powell has lent solidity to an otherwise weak middle order, which has been left lacking with the exit of Nkrumah Bonner. The bowling has been good for Jamaica so far, with Dennis Bulli being the pick of the bowlers. He has picked up 12 wickets from the 4 games he has played so far. The slow left arm has received good support from Nicholson Gordon and Jeavor Royal. Odean Smith hasn’t seen much success with the bat but has been a handy performer with the ball.

Guyana
The runners-up from last season have been in good touch this season too, winning 4 of their 6 group-stage matches. Guyana finished second on the points table, 6 points clear of the Windward Islands.
All the top-order batsmen have contributed to Guyana’s journey in this competition. Anthony Bramble and Kemol Savory have provided their team with quite a few good starts, while Tevin Imlach has been great in the number-3 position. Tagenarine Chanderpaul looked promising but had to leave for international duty.
The only disappointment has been Shimron Hetmeyer, who has been quite subdued so far. Gudakesh Motie was the top wicket-taker the last season and has been in great form this time too. He has received good support from Romario Shepherd and Kevin Sinclair.
Guyana Playing 11
Bramble, Kemol Savory, Sinclair, Smith, Imlach, Motie, Johnson, Shepherd, Hetmyer, Rutherford, Permaul.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Viv Richards Stadium is perfectly balanced. The good and consistent bounce allows the batsmen to score freely, and at the same time offers ample opportunities for the quicker bowlers to take some wickets. The spinners won’t feel let down too, as they are likely to see some turn as the match progresses. The weather is expected to remain overcast, with occasional showers.
JMS vs GUY Betting Tips
We are backing Guyana to win this match. While most betting sites are offering shorter odds for a Jamaica win, the runners-up from the last season seem to be peaking at just the right time, making it worth taking a risk.
Bet on a Guyana win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Tevin Imlach is the top run-getter for Guyana this season. He has 248 runs against his name, at an average of close to 50, including 2 half-centuries. The good bounce at North Sound will give him the perfect opportunities to go through with his shots, and score runs.
