Islamabad United has won the toss in 3 of their last 4 matches, while the Karachi Kings have managed to win just once during the same time. Seeing the good luck that Islamabad has enjoyed with the toss, it seems apt to back them for this bet.
Colin Munro is one of the leading run-scorers for Islamabad this season. He has scored 2 half-centuries in his last 4 innings and was the top batsman for the team in both of those matches. With the kind of odds on offer, it is worth taking a bet on him.
Hasan Ali has been in good form of late. He has picked up 10 wickets in his last 5 matches and has been the top bowler for the team in two of those matches, including the latest one. With the bowlers around him lacking consistency, Hasan Ali has a good chance of being the top bowler yet again.
The Karachi Kings will be looking to get into the top 4 as they face Islamabad United in a crucial group-stage fixture of PSL. The match will be played on Thursday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Both teams have played 21 matches against each other to date. Islamabad United has been the dominant side with 15 wins, while Karachi has managed to win only 6.

After winning back-to-back matches, Islamabad United suffered a big defeat against the Lahore Qalandars on Wednesday. Nevertheless, the team occupies the 4th place on the points table. With just 2 more matches to go, Islamabad will have to win this match to further its case for the playoffs.
Islamabad United has a strong batting line-up but has been a bit inconsistent. Agha Salman is the leading run-scorer for the team with 229 runs scored at an average of 45.8. He is a vital cog in the middle order. Colin Munro and Alex Hales will open the batting.
While Munro has played a couple of good knocks, Hales hasn’t been able to convert his starts into big innings. Islamabad has a couple of quality all-rounders in the form of Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan, both of whom can play big shots in the death overs.
Shadab Khan is the leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets and will be joined by Wasim and Salman. Naseem Shah has had a relatively quiet season, picking up 9 wickets.
He will lead the attack with the new ball along with Hunain Shah.
The Karachi Kings have been rather inconsistent this season and have managed to win only 3 of the 7 matches played so far. As a result, they are 5th on the points table. However, a win here will help them overtake Islamabad and get into the top 4.
The batting for Karachi hasn’t been the best but a couple of batsmen seem to be peaking in form. Tim Seifert scored 49 runs on Wednesday to help the team beat Quetta and will once again hope to give the team a strong start along with Shan Masood.
The latter has had a relatively quiet tournament so far and his form will be vital for the team going ahead. Shoaib Malik, James Vince, and Kieron Pollard make up for a strong middle order, with Malik and Pollard being the top two run-getters for the team.
The seamers, particularly Hasan Ali, have bowled well. Ali picked up a four-for in the last match and is 3rd on the list of top wicket-takers of the season. He has received good support from Mir Hamza and Blessing Muzarabani.
The spin department consists of Shoaib Malik and Zahid Mohammad but they haven’t been consistent.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch at Rawalpindi is excellent to bat on and has seen an average first-inning score of over 180 this season. The surface is firm and there isn’t much grass, allowing the batsmen to play their shots. The outfield is pretty quick too. The pitch does slow down a bit in the second half of the match, making batting a tad bit difficult.
The weather is likely to remain cloudy with temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius.
While both teams haven’t been in the best of forms, we feel that Islamabad United has an edge in this contest. They have defeated Karachi once this season and have a good record in past head-to-head encounters. The team has a better balance compared to Karachi and will likely end up on top.
Bet on Islamabad United to win.
