IND vs AUS Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 28, 2023

India dominated the second T20 matches against Australia and now holds a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. India's next generation has been quite unbelievable and even though the Indian supporters are still hurting at the loss in the CWC 23 Final, there is hope for the upcoming T20 heavy-international season!

India vs Australia T20 Head to Head

India has now won 17 out of the 27 T20 matches it has played against Australia. This includes four wins in its previous five matches. Clearly, in home conditions, India is more than a handful for Australia.

IND vs AUS Team Previews

India

India followed up its record-breaking chase of 209 with another massive batting performance. They scored 235 batting first with almost every single batter performing well. Yashasvi Jaiswal got the side off to another rocket start while Ruturaj Gaikwad played a more steady role at the other end.

There may be a case for Gaikwad to be more enterprising in his batting approach but he still scored at a strike-rate of 134.88.

Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, and Tilak Varma all made the most of their opportunity scoring very quickly in whatever time they spent at the crease. The Indian batting lineup is very strong and full of power.

They smashed 13 sixes in their inning and all but one batter scored at over a strike-rate of 150 easily. Another batting paradise awaits in Guwahati and we could see the batters flex their batting muscles yet again.

It helps having a massive score to defend but there was no doubt that the Indian bowlers were better in the second match than in the first. Axar Patel continued to be economic while Ravi Bishnoi struck regularly on a surface that offered him some help.

Prasidh Krishna also recovered from a tough start to end up with decent bowling figures.

India will go into the third match full of confidence and may not make any further changes to their lineup.

India Playing 11

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna.

Australia

Australia has been found wanting in the previous two matches that it has played and perhaps it is time for it to bring back its best players. We expect to see Travis Head back in the playing eleven and perhaps the team balance will need to be rejigged a bit as well.

Tanveer Sangha does not seem to fit in the team's balance right now and Australia could easily replace him with Travis Head, adding a lot more depth to an already deep batting lineup. Sean Abbott has also had two absolutely terrible matches and may be in line to be replaced.

Australia showed how powerful its batting can be in both matches. Even losing early wickets did not deter players like Tim David, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, and others to keep peppering the boundaries. Knockout matches are where Australia often brings out its best and every single match in the series is a knockout contest for it now.

The odds available on Australia are even more attractive now, which seems to be a huge opportunity. On a man-to-man comparison, Australia is just as dangerous as India in terms of batting power. It also has more experience and its bowling lineup is bound to adjust to the conditions sooner rather than later.

Australia Playing 11

Travis Head, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Timothy David, Matthew Wade, Nathan Ellis, Jason Behrendorff, Tanveer Sangha, Kane Richardson.

IND vs AUS Toss Prediction

Winning the toss and choosing to field seems to be the way that both teams want to go. Dew has been a factor in the venues that we have played so far and could once again come into play. Expect the team that wins toss to chase.

Pitch and Conditions

There is no rain predicted in Guwahati on match day. There may, however, be a high amount of humidity that brings dew into the equation. The size of the ground is quite small and the pitch is generally very good for batting. 237/4 is the highest score at this venue (just two international T20 matches so far). Interestingly, Australia has won the only match it has played here so far with an outstanding performance from Jason Behrendorff (4/21) leading the way.

IND vs AUS Betting Tips

We think this is once again a great opportunity to bet on Australia. You are getting odds of well over 2.00 so basically more than doubling your money. Is there that big a difference between the Indian and the Australian team? We don't think so.

Australia could very well be forced to play its best possible combination and that could make the contest a lot closer. Follow the odds and bet on Australia.
