IND vs AUS Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 03, 2023

India won the fourth T20 international against Australia with relative ease. Both teams made plenty of changes to their lineup Australia seemed to be behind the game at all times. With the series over, will India take its foot of the accelerator and give Australia a chance to capitalize?

India vs Australia T20 Head to Head

India and Australia have played 29 t20 internationals against each other with Indian winning 18 of then. Recent form also seems to be on India's side with five wins out of their previous seven matches against Australia.

IND vs AUS Team Previews

India made several changes to its lineup as Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Kumar, and Jitesh Sharma came into the playing eleven. Iyer and Chahar had a forgettable match, but Mukesh Kumar and Jitesh Sharma were very impressive.

There is something about Jitesh Sharma's ability to strike big from the very first ball that he plays that makes him rare in Indian cricket. Also, Rinku Singh showed that he is a complete T20 batter and does not need to be pigeon-holed as someone capable of playing just the last five overs.

India's approach remained fearless throughout the inning and only the late collapse of the lower order is something that they would be worried about.

India's bowling performance was salvaged by India's spinners. Both Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi had a terrific match. Axar Patel picked up three wickets but Ravi Bishnoi was instrumental in creating pressure. Both of them will continue to be the main threat against the new-look Australian batting lineup that is not adept at playing spin.

Mukesh Kumar is excellent at the death, Avesh Khan also did quite well but the lack of any sort of menace in Deepak Chahar's bowling was very concerning. He got away with some lucky wickets in the death overs but we have no doubt that he is currently short of confidence and may end up costing India heavily.

India is unlikely to make any change for this final T20 international.

Australia was found a bit short of quality in the previous match. After a good start where it took early wickets to peg back the Indians, poor bowling in the middle allowed India to get to a competitive total. Similarly, a fast start in the chase was followed up by a lack of intent and clear ideas against the spinners.

Matthew Wade admitted that they were just not good enough and unfortunately for them, the fix does not appear to be straightforward.

Players like Ben McDermott, Josh Philippe, Aaron Hardie, or even Matthew Short are not comfortable against spin. They will always be vulnerable to getting out to the slower bowlers or struggle to keep the run rate high enough. In fact, we think Australia is lucky that India does not have a third-spin bowling option in their ranks at the moment.

In such a scenario, Travis Head remains the only real match-winner for Australia on most days.

The bowling lineup is not too special either. Chris Green, Tanveer Sangha, and Matt Short as the spin options are underwhelming. No real spin, mystery, or threat. We like Jason Behrendorff and Ben Dwarshius as T20 bowlers but their match-up against a left-handed heavy Indian batting lineup is not too encouraging either.

IND vs AUS Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss is definitely going to want to field first. Defending a score can be quite difficult at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Pitch and Conditions

There is no rain predicted on match day in Bengaluru but the weather-gods can be quite fickle when it comes to this area of India. The pitch will be excellent for batting, as we saw during the World Cup, and we think 200+ scores are definitely on the cards.

There is usually very little for the bowlers to work with but change of pace or high-quality spin has the best option to succeed.

IND vs AUS Betting Tips

We think India is the team to back in this contest as well. The odds are a bit shorter than we would have liked, especially considering the fact that India could be defending a total at the Chinnaswamy with a weak bowling lineup, but overall, India is definitely the better team.

It has enough batting strength to overcome the weaknesses that its bowling has. We have seen that already during the series and expect the same in this final match as well.

    Total Sixes

    Over 16.5 (1.74)

While the total number of sixes may seem high, keep in mind that this match is being played in Bengaluru. We don't think there should be any hesitation in backing Over 16.5 sixes to be hit during the entire match. One of the players will get set and end up smashing 6-7 sixes alone.

    Total Ducks

    Over 0.5 (1.54)

We like this betting market in matches where the overall scoring levels are expected to be high. Just one batter needs to succumb to the pressure and go for an ill-advised shot at the beginning of the inning for you to get paid. Always worth the risk.

The odds have gotten shorter for this betting market as it keeps paying out! We still don't mind the 28% return on our stake, though! Use this bet as a banker.
