IND vs AUS Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 01, 2023

The series between India and Australia is 2-1 in favor of the home team after an absolutely thrilling contest in the previous match. India racked up 223 but Glen Maxwell managed to win that game from absolutely nowhere! Now, however, a number of Australia's senior squad members have returned to Australia and will be replaced by different players.

India

India's batting has been hugely impressive in the T20 series so far. Yes, the pitches have been flat and good for batting but the manner in which the Indian batters have attacked the Australian bowlers has been a sight to watch. There is no reason to change anything in this batting lineup with the series on the line.

Shreyas Iyer has been added to the squad for this match and his return could force one of the current top-3 out of the lineup, if India decides to go that way.

Yashasvi Jaiswal could perhaps just learn a thing or two from Ruturaj Gaikwad about pacing his inning or maybe that is just the role that he has been given. Both of them are in excellent form, as are Ishan Kishan, SKY, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh.

A power-packed batting lineup can be expected to once again take advantage of the flat batting conditions in Raipur.

The bowling lineup has been under great pressure and we feel there might be a couple of changes. It is unclear if Mukesh Singh is going to be back for the next T20 but even if he is not, Prasidh Krishna might need a bit of break. He has been the most expensive bowler for India in this series and seems to be short of confidence.

Ravi Bishnoi is the pick of the bowlers with the most wickets. Apart from him, Axar Patel has made a bit of an impact but everyone else has struggled. The going is not going to be a lot easier in this next match but if there is a bit of help for the spinners, Bishnoi and Axar might be the ones to back.

India Playing 11

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Jitesh Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.

Australia

Australia's playing eleven for the fourth and the fifth T20 will be markedly different from what we have seen so far. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, and Josh Inglis have all gone home. This will give an opportunity to Ben McDermott, Josh Philippe, and Chris Green to find a place in the playing eleven.

Matthew Wade, Travis Head, Kane Richardson, and Tim David will all add a lot of experience to the squad but there is no doubt that Australia is weaker than it was in the previous match.

One of the real challenges that we see Australia struggle against is facing spin. This is true for their top-order players and also the rejigged middle-order. The bowling attack will remain more or less the same but without Adam Zampa, Tanveer Sangha needs to step up his game.

Chris Green is usually a bowler that is most effective in the powerplay so it will be interesting to see if he continues to play that role.

Can Australia win this next match? It of course can but there is no doubt it will take something special for it to be able to do so. We see more hurdles to overcome and more chances of the Australian slipping up.

Australia Playing 11

Josh Philippe, Travis Head, Ben McDermott, Aaron Hardie, Timothy David, Matthew Short, Matthew Wade, Ben Dwarshuis, Chris Green, Tanveer Sangha, Jason Behrendorff.

IND vs AUS Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss may want to field first as the pitch could be a bit of an unknown. This will be the first T20 international played at the venue.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Raipur are expected to be good for cricket. There is no rain predicted but there is likely to be dew around from the very start. The only ODI played at this venue was a low-scoring one where spin dominated. Hopefully, that will not be the case in this match and a better batting surface will be on offer.

The boundaries are not the biggest and if the pitch is half-decent, we should see a lot of runs being scored.

IND vs AUS Betting Tips

We are going to be on India to win this match. We think they have a much stronger team than the reshuffled Australian team. They have better spinners, a strong batting lineup, and are obviously better suited to exploit the conditions. Australia's newly added players could struggle to come to terms with the slowness of the wickets immediately and that will cost them.

There is something so relaxed and risk-free about Ruturaj Gaikwad's batting even when he is batting freely, that it makes him a special batter. With two big scores in the previous two innings, he is in top form and we are happy to continue to back him.

The team that wins the match more often than not scores the most fours. We think India will be able to dominate this match and thus, is more likely to hit the most fours. Also, India's batters pierce the field while the Australian batters try and clear the boundaries.
