With Shubhman Gill unlikely to be fit by Wednesday, we can expect an unchanged playing eleven. Overall, India has one of the most balanced teams and is likely to be up for any challenge. If the surface is what like what we saw in Delhi for the previous match, there is a small chance that Suryakumar Yadav could come into the playing eleven in place of Shreyas Iyer. 

Afghanistan

Afghanistan's poor run in the World Cup continues as they were overpowered by Bangladesh in their opening fixture.

Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave the team a decent start with the bat, with the latter going on to become the top-scorer for the team. However, as expected, the middle-order batting was a weak spot for Afghanistan as they went from 111 for 2 to 156 all-out.

Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zadran, and Rahmat Shah have been very inconsistent in the recent matches and they will need to put up a much better performance if Afghanistan wants to take on a quality team like India. The batters may end up being more productive in Delhi with a flat pictha nd small outfield but overpowering the Indians will require something special.

The visitors will bank on its strong spin attack to deliver the goods in this game. Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi were all wicketless in the last match but will hope to turn things around here.

Afghanistan’s pace attack isn’t the strongest one around and the seamers will need to be spot-on with their line and length as they face the in-form Indian batting. It would be a brave man that underestimates the Afghan spinners but with all due respect to them, they are going to be up against a massive challenge in this match.
