 The Tiruppur Tamizhans have been very inconsistent in their performance this season. With just 2 wins in the 5 matches played so far, they are currently 6th on the points table, trailing the top 4 by 2 points. With just 2 matches to go for them in the group stages, the Tamizhans will need to win both of them to get a better shot at making it to the playoffs.

Tushar Raheja and S Radhakrishnan will look to give a good start here. Both have been in decent form this season and have done the bulk of the scoring for the team. All-rounder R Sai Kishore, who has been pushed up the order thanks to his hard-hitting abilities played a nice cameo in his last outing and will be looking to put up another good show here.

While the team does have some good players in the middle order, including Vijay Shankar, Balchander Anirudh, and Rajendran Vivek, they have lacked consistency. Coming to the bowling, P Bhuvaneswaran is in good form, picking up 10 wickets, and is the leading wicket-taker for the Tamizhans this season.

He will once again lead the pace attack along with G Periyaswamy and A Karuppusamy. However, more will be expected from the spinners R Sai Kishore and S Manigandan. 

Salem Spartans

The Spartans have had a terrible run this season. The team has faced 4 losses in 5 matches and is 7th on the points table. With just 2 more matches to go, they are all but eliminated from the race to the playoffs.

Kaushik Gandhi, who led the Super Gillies to the Finals in the last season, has been the standout performer with the Spartans this time around. He is the top-scorer for his team with 133 runs, including 2 half-centuries. However, he has failed to receive support at the other end.

Openers Amit Sathvik and Mokit Hariharan have failed to give the team a good start in any of the matches. Even the middle-order batsmen, including S Abisheik, Adnan Khan, and Maan Bafna have failed to get going. The story continues with the bowling too, as except for seamers Abhishek Tanwar and Sunny Sandhu, none of the bowlers have managed to make an impact.

The spinners, M Ganesh Moorthi and R Karthikeyan have managed to pick up just 5 wickets between them. The Spartans will need to come up with a special effort if they want to win here.
