HBHW vs SYDW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 13, 2023

It’s fair to say that the Sixers have turned things around and are looking good once again. Sydney started the season poorly with the injury to Healy and having a 1-5 record, however, recent straight victories over the Renegades, Stars, and Hurricanes sees the Sixers in 5th place and charging for a playoff spot. The Hurricanes, meanwhile, were also looking formidable again with three wins in a row, but have dropped off lately after two losses and one No Result. As the Sixers only defeated the Hurricanes by 57 runs on November 10th, it’s going to be a very fresh rematch.

Hobart Hurricanes Women vs. Sydney Sixers Women will be played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on November 13th. Look at the betting odds for all big cricket matches happening at the moment.

HBHW vs SYDW Team Previews

Hobart Hurricanes Women

There’s no doubt that much of the success for Hobart will rest on the shoulders of Villani, as she’s clearly the most exciting batter. With 225 runs scored so far, Villani is a fast scorer and very consistent (average of 56.25). It was a surprise to see her with just 8 runs in the loss to the Sixers, as before that she had scored 139 runs in her last three games.

Stalenberg has been useful in the middle order with 136 runs, but we’d still like more from Lee, who may have scored 91 runs recently but has only 19 runs in her last three games. Lee is capable of big scores, but needs more focus. Graham has her moments with 68 runs, but if Smith (13) and Carey (42) don’t pick up the run-scoring, then it makes it harder for Hobart.

No Hobart bowler is yet to reach 10 total wickets for the season, which is a slight worry, but there’s a chance in this match. Strano is likely the best bowler to trouble the Sixers’ batters, as she’s been solid with 8/146 (6.63 ER). Ismail isn’t far behind with 7/163 and does a decent job with the ball, but if the Hurricanes want to climb the ladder, then Graham (6/213) must improve, as she’s giving away far too many runs with an ER of 9.26.

Sydney Sixers Women

Perry (293 runs) rarely has a terrible game as a batter and will be the No. 1 target for the Hurricanes bowlers, although 31st October was her last great game with 59 runs. Tryon has been better lately with 207 runs and Gardner is solid with 194 runs. The three batters we’re still not sure we can trust are Brown, Burns, and Bates, and Hobart needs to ensure they don’t get a chance to improve.

The Sixers have really upgraded their bowling attack in the recent games, as Cheatle has been storming up the rankings with 17/237, and Gardner has been great with 14/227. Gardner is probably the bowler that the Hurricanes can exploit, as she isn’t amazing in every game and often gives away too many runs. Smith and Tryon both have 8 wickets each, so aren’t quite as fallible as they once were.

Pitch and Conditions

Although the slower speed of the Bellerive Oval pitch is ideal for batters, it may also confuse some batters when it slows down at times. Although the pitch is pretty balanced, there are about 150 runs scored in the first innings. In Hobart, expect somewhat cloudier and cooler weather.

HBHW vs SYDW Betting Tips

The Sixers have a great record against the Hurricanes, as they’ve won the last 5 games, including one just a few days ago. It’s true that Sydney are looking much better lately and aren’t quite a laughing stock, but we haven’t given up on the Hurricanes just yet. The 10Cric odds are really interesting for Hobart, so we think it’s worth a try with this team. Villani can easily go for 60 runs and Lee has scored big in the past. Strano and Ismail are also quality bowlers capable of causing trouble.

Tryon's odds are really high and now is a good time to make a bet. She's already picked up 207 runs and has displayed some quality performances as a batter. If Perry or Gardner have bad games, then Tryon is likely the next batter to make a good score.
