Hardik Pandya will be very proud of his team’s performance in their latest match, here they defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 7 runs despite defending a modest total of 135.

Wriddhiman Saha played well in the last match, scoring 47 runs. With him back in form, the Titans will be hoping that Saha and Shubhman Gill give them a brisk start here and can actually carry on. Saha has an excellent strike-rate during the powerplay but then slows down once the field restrictions are over.

Hardik Pandya, who promoted himself to the number-3 position, went on to score his 9th half-century in his IPL career and played an instrumental role in getting his team to a respectable total. One area of concern for the Titans will be the form of its lower middle-order batsmen as David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, and Rahul Tewatia have all failed to play a big inning so far.

There is not much information being shared about the availability of Sai Sudharsan, who did not play the previous match.

Talking about the bowling, Rashid Khan has been excellent so far and is the leading wicket-taker for the Titans with 12 wickets. Jayant Yadav and Noor Ahmed bowled good spells in the previous game and we are likely to see more of them in the upcoming matches.

Mohammad Shami will lead the pace attack and he has found a good partner in veteran seamer Mohit Sharma, who has picked up 4 wickets in 3 matches and has bowled very economically too, giving away just 4.66 runs per over.

The conditions in Ahmedabad have been friendlier to the fast-bowlers and so the balance of the eleven for this match is likely to be different from what we saw play in Lucknow.

Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians’ 3-match winning streak abruptly ended on Saturday as they were defeated by the Punjab Kings in a high-scoring encounter. Chasing a mammoth total of 214, the Indians were on track to win right till the end, thanks to some excellent batting displays by Surya Kumar Yadav, Cameron Green, and Rohit Sharma.

However, they fell short by 13 runs to concede 2 important points to the Kings, who overtook them on the points table.

While the fans will be relieved to see SKY finally getting back to form, the batsmen further down the order, including Tim David and Nehal Wadhera haven’t been consistent this season.

As the pitch at Ahmedabad is known to be good for batting, the batsmen must bring out their A-game against the quality bowling unit of the Titans. The Mumbai Indians will be relieved to see Jofra Archer achieving match fitness. He picked a wicket in his comeback match against the Kings but was very expensive.

All the seamers, including Arjun Tendulkar, Jason Behrendorff, Cameron Green, and Archer went for more than 10 runs per over in that match. They will need to bowl a better line and length here if they want to restrict the Titans to a smaller total. Veteran spinner Piyush Chawla has been the best bowler for the Indians this season, picking up 9 wickets.

He has received decent support from Hrithik Shokeen. 

The Mumbai Indians do not have a great bolwing-attack and Piyush Chawla could come under pressure from players like Pandya and Miller. Also, it is clear the MI's batting is very strong and we think the pitch in Ahmedabad will suit them, however, they will need to bowl a lot better than they have so far to have any chance of winning.
