Guyana Amazon Warriors Women

The Guyana Amazon Warriors will be very disappointed with the outcome of its first match as despite putting up a good batting performance, the team was defeated by the Barbados Royals.

Sophie Devine was in top form, scoring the first-ever century in Women’s CPL as she remained unbeaten on 103 runs of just 64 deliveries. She received good support from the likes of Stafanie Taylor and Suzie Bates and will once again look to put up a strong show.

With Natasha McLean and Shemaine Campbelle to follow, the Warriors have plenty of depth in their batting. The bowling however was a big letdown. Except for Devine and Shabnim Ismail, all the bowlers were pretty expensive.

Shreyanka Patil and Karishma Ramharack were taken for over 10 runs per over, while Cherry Ann-Fraser, who was among the top 5 wicket-takers last season, gave away 31 runs in 2 overs. 

Barbados Women

The Barbados Royals have been clinical in their performance so far. The team has won both the matches it has played so far and is sitting comfortably at the top of the points table. A win here will take them to the Finals.

Gaby Lewis and Hayley Matthews make up for an excellent opening pair and will look to give the team a strong start. Lewis is the top run-getter for the team so far. Rashada Williams, Erin Burns, and Laura Harris will feature in the middle order.

Burns has got a couple of good starts but will need to play a longer innings and stay on till the end. Coming to the bowling, the spinners have done a good job for the Barbados Royals. Amanda Jade-Wellington and Erin Burns have picked up 3 wickets each, while Hayley Matthews has 2 wickets against her name.

The seamers however have struggled a bit as Aaliyah Alleyne and Chinelle Henry have managed to pick up just 1 wicket between them.
