GAW vs SNP Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Sep 02, 2023

The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots side will face Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 15th game of the Caribbean Premier League competition for the 2023 season on 2nd September 2023. This important contest will be played at the venue of Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. This is the second time this season these two teams are going up against each other. Guyana had defeated the Patriots in the first encounter by a margin of 65 runs and also went on to win the next match against the Jamaican outfit.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have lost their last couple of games and are struggling to record their first victory of the season. This appears to be an uphill task for them given the fact that their bowlers are still struggling to achieve crucial breakthroughs. After failing to chase a total against Guyana, the Patriots batter did a good job in their next couple of games scoring 197 and 178 runs respectively while batting first. But their bowlers have lacked penetration and are unable to develop pressure on the opposition especially while defending small totals.

Although the Guyana Amazon Warriors had to endure a huge collapse in their last fixture, they will be pleased with the way their lower middle order and lower order did a resurrection job for the innings. They were 76 for 4 at one stage from 9.1 overs but ended up hitting 210 runs for the loss of 7 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. It was a terrific comeback from the Guyana side.

GAW vs SNP Team Previews

Guyana Amazon Warriors

The Guyana Amazon Warriors side is being led by Imran Tahir this year. They have performed well under his leadership thus far. In the first game, they bowled out the SKTNP for a smallish total of 132 runs when they were defending a score of 197 runs. Then their bowlers reduced their opponents Jamaica Tallawahs to 13 for 4 while defending a massive score of 210 runs in their last match. Although the Jamaican team bounced back with a 97-run stand for the sixth wicket, the Warriors had a big cushion which proved to be decisive in the end.

Imran Tahir has been expensive with the ball in hand, but the Guyana team has several alternatives in their bowling attack that can rise to the occasion. Junior Sinclair and Romario Shepherd will be the bowlers to watch out for once again in this game. They will get assistance from the all-rounder Keemo Paul who delivered big time with the bat in their last match. Keemo Paul hammered 57 runs from 29 balls while batting in 6th position with 7 sixes and 1 four. The top 4 batters from the batting order are solid.

These top four batters for Guyana are Hazratullah Zazai, Saim Ayub, Shai Hope, and Azam Khan. There is a good mixture of styles on the Guyana batting order together with a varying range of experience and approaches. Shimron Hetmyer bats in the number-five position and is a key batter for his team. He is capable of finishing the matches for the Warriors outfit. The Guyana batting order is quite deep and they have the services of Romario Shepherd and Dwaine Pretorius coming into bat at number 7 and number 8 positions. It is a strong team with several in-form players for all departments of the game.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

The SKTNP captainship had to be changed in their last game. Sherfane Rutherford took over this responsibility from Evin Lewis. The new skipper responded well immediately by hitting an unbeaten 62 from 38 balls while batting in the number 5 position for SKTNP. He was primarily responsible for taking the Patriot's total to a score of 178 runs while batting first. Andre Fletcher also got off to a great start but Evin Lewis appeared to be struggling for runs. Fletcher appeared to be in great nick at the top of the order.

Corbin Bosch played a handy knock in the number 6 position as he stepped up to let STKNP finish the innings on a good note. After Rayudu could not get going in the first few matches, he was axed in the last game from the playing eleven. Another middle-order batter that is not looking too good is Jyd Goolie. He is still struggling to find his rhythm while being at the crease. Joshua Da Silva is again struggling to get some big scores under his belt and the SKTNP middle order is appearing to be extremely fragile.

Sherfane Rutherford is a key batter in the number 5 position for SKTNP. He will have provided another stellar performance for his outfit if they are to reach a competitive total. The problem for SKTNP is that they do not have any dependable batters on their team at the moment. But the biggest concern for the SKTNP is their bowling attack. Corbin Bosch has bowled consistently though and he is a key bowler for his team. However, most of the other bowlers from the bowling attack have failed to make an impression. Sheldon Cottrell and Blessing Muzarabani are back to the playing eleven but they could deliver big time in their last fixture.

GAW vs SNP Toss Prediction

Looking at the fact that the SKTNP team has failed to defend even some good totals, it might be a good idea to bowl first for them. Chasing a target will be a far easier option with some batters being in good touch compared to batting first on this track. Guyana is also in good form with the bat and they also have some serious depth in their batting order allowing them to be adept at chasing down targets.

Pitch and Conditions

The wicket on offer at the Kensington Oval in Barbados is a great one for batting. It will offer some pace and bounce to the batters. The carry bowlers will get will also mean that batters can play through the line of the ball. The fast bowlers are unlikely to get any other assistance from the track but spinners can be useful, especially in the second innings. Keep in mind that this is a high-scoring ground and the team batting first will look to score in the excess of 180 runs or more from the track to remain ahead of the competition.

The weather during the game is likely to be breezy, especially in the mornings. There is a distinct possibility of rain coming down during the day. But the conditions during the match will be humid and partially sunny. The temperatures during the game will remain close to 31 degrees and the relative humidity will be close to 68%.

GAW vs SNP Betting Tips

We are yet to observe any signs of a fightback from the SKTNP team as they have a completely lackluster bowling attack and a fragile batting order to contend with. The Guyanese team on the other hand will be going into this game with back-to-back victories where their bowling and batting both fired. They have a dependable bowling attack and a long batting order. They will have the upper hand going into this game and will be strong favorites to win the encounter. We will bet with Guyana Amazon Warriors to win this contest.
