Falcons Women
The Falcons barely scraped through to the playoffs in the last season as they finished 4th on the points table. They played some spirited cricket in the knockout stages to make it to the Finals where they eventually lost out to the Tornadoes. They now have an excellent opportunity to avenge that loss and begin their latest campaign on a winning note.
The Falcons have a good mix of young and experienced players. They will be led by New Zealand's former skipper, Suzie Bates, who is an excellent all-rounder. Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu is likely to feature at the top of the order.
Supporting her will be Dani Wyatt, who was in excellent form in the recently held Women’s League Exhibition in Pakistan, as well as Marizanne Kapp, who played an instrumental role in getting the Delhi Capitals to the finals in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League.
The bowling will be spearheaded by Bangladeshi pacer Jahanara Alam, who will be supported by the likes of Anju Gurung and Mariko Hill. The team also has a world-class spinner on the squad in the form of Mas Elysa.

Tornadoes Women
The Tornadoes were third on the points table at the end of the group stages in the previous season, but they peaked in the form at the right time to win every match during the knockout stages and ended as the Champions. They will now look to continue their domination in this season too.
The Tornadoes will be led by Stafanie Taylor, who brings in a vast amount of experience, both as a captain as well as a player. The team has a strong batting line-up in the form of Sterre Kalis, Sune Luus, and Natasha Miles. The Tornadoes will however miss out on the services of Sophie Devine for this season.
Sita Magar, Stafanie Taylor, and Dane van Niekerk are some of the quality all-rounders in the team who will play an important role in the middle order. Winifred Duraisingam was the leading wicket-taker for the Tornadoes in the last season and is once again expected to lead the pace attack.
She will be helped by Pakistani seamer Diana Baig at the other end. The Tornadoes also have some quality spinners at their disposal, including Chanida Sutthiruang and Aliya Riaz.

The pitch at the Kowloon Cricket Club is well-balanced and offers equal opportunities to the batters as well as the bowlers. Anything over 140 will be difficult to chase on this ground. The skies will remain overcast and there might be some delays due to rain.
If the DLS does kick in, it is usually beneficial to the team batting second. The temperature will remain around the 22-degree mark.
