ENGW vs NZW Team Previews

England Women

England has been clinical in its performance during this tour. After white-washing the visitors in the ODIs, they scored a convincing win in the first T20 as well.

England boasts of a strong batting line-up as Danielle Wyatt and Maia Bouchier are likely to open the batting. The duo put up an impressive partnership of 61 runs in the first match. Bouchier, who was the leading run-getter in the ODIs, continued with her good form, while Wyatt top-scored for the team with 76 runs.

There are plenty of all-rounders playing for England, including Nat Sciver-Brunt, Freya Kemp, and Heather Knight, and that allows versatility in team selection. The spinners bowled brilliantly, picking up 7 wickets between them, with Sophie Ecclestone and Charlotte Dean leading the way.

The pace attack will be led by Sciver-Brunt and Freya Kemp.

New Zealand Women

New Zealand will be very disappointed with the way they have performed on this tour. While not many expected them to win, they would have liked to put up a better show and show some fight. Nevertheless, there are 4 more matches to go and they will be hoping to turn things around.

Much will depend on the opening pair of Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer. Bates played well for her innings of 43 runs on Saturday but didn’t get much support at the other end. Amelia Kerr had played a couple of decent knocks and will be the key player in the middle order.

However, until the big names in the middle order start firing, New Zealand will find it difficult to turn things around. The bowling has been another big disappointment.

Barring Lea Tahuhu, none of the bowlers were able to make much of an impact during the 1st T20.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the County Ground in Hove isn’t the easiest to bat on. There is plenty of help on offer for both, the seamers and the spinners. The average first-inning score here is around 145.

Things do get slightly better in the second half but the batters will need to work hard to score runs.

ENGW vs NZW Betting Tips

England has completely dominated New Zealand on this tour and we do not expect this to change. The former has a strong team that is better in all aspects and should once again win here.

Both, Maia Bouchier and Danielle Wyatt are in good form at the moment and put up 61 runs in the last game. On the other hand, New Zealand’s opening pair has struggled across formats and we expect their woes to continue.

The pitch at Hove isn’t the easiest to bat on and the matches played here are usually low-scoring. As both sides, and particularly England have a strong bowling line-up, it is unlikely that we will see a big over.
