ENGW vs AUSW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Jul 08, 2023

The third T20 match between England Women vs. Australia Women is going to be the most exciting of all the games. This is because while Australia picked up a win in the first game, England fought back in the second and earned a tough victory by only three runs. This recent success is thanks largely to Wyatt’s 76 runs and two wickets each from Glenn and Ecclestone.

England Women vs. Australia Women will take place at Lord's, London, on July 8th. You can see more betting odds from other cricket matches on our website.

ENGW vs AUSW Team Previews

England Women

England played exceptionally well in the second T20 and really improved batting, bowling, and fielding from the first match. In fact, the batters set the highest T20I record of all time against Australia with 186 runs. Wyatt’s 76 runs (13 fours) was a big reason for the win, but there were other significant contributions.

We were hoping for a bit more from Dunkley (23 runs) and Sciver-Brunt (23 runs), as both have been batting great throughout the games against Oz. Still, it was enough to help Wyatt reach a huge score.

It was the spinners Ecclestone (2/35) and Glenn (2/27) that troubled the Aussie batters the most, as they managed to prevent the Australians from scoring easy runs. Glenn is certainly looking like the strongest bowler so far, as she’s picked up 4/60 so far.

England Women Playing 11

Sophia Dunkley, Danielle Wyatt, Alice Capsey, Natalie Sciver, Heather Knight, Amy Jones, Danielle Gibson, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell.

Australia Women

Australia has got to feel like they could have won this game, especially after they were incredible scoring 58 without a wicket in the Powerplay. Perry was fantastic by picking up 51 from 27 balls, and she helped Oz nearly score 20 from the final over, but England’s bowlers gave few simple deliveries.

Mooney has been pretty reliable from Oz so far with 83 runs across two T20 games, although she no doubt feels she could have done better than 22 in the second game. Healy has improved in the second game with 37 runs, but we’d like more from the middle order, as Harris (9 total runs) and Sutherland (29 total runs) have been underwhelming.

Although Sutherland bowled well (3/28) and took the big wicket of Wyatt, the Aussie bowlers had no answers for her during the majority of the game. Shut was the biggest surprise and will have to be better in the third match, as she finished with 0/41 after three overs. It’s especially shocking for Schutt because had 2/33 in the first match.

Australia Women Playing 11

Beth Mooney, Alyssa Healy, Tahlia McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Grace Harris, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Jess Jonassen, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown.

Pitch and Conditions

The Lord's pitch often has a good mix of helping batters right away and seeing some movement for the bowlers in the second innings. While pace bowlers must put in extra effort in the initial overs, spinners will get a lot of turn if they're experienced.

ENGW vs AUSW Betting Tips

Even though England won the second match, Australia is still the favourites with the bookies. However, the BLANK odds for England to win are too good to dismiss, and this is a good chance to make money. England very nearly won the first T20 and was excellent in the second, so it would no shocker if they earned a victory in the third.

If Dunkley and Sciver-Brunt have better games as batters, and Wyatt can get close to her performance from game 2, then there’s no reason why England can’t win. It will help if Ecclestone and Glenn can continue their great bowling attack with spin, as Australia is finding it difficult.

Although she scored just 5 runs in the first match, Healy found her shot in the second and made a solid 37 runs. She looks like she's only going to get better and she's one of the most experienced batters in the squad, so we trust her to get things together. She averages 24.33 in T20I cricket, so we think she'll have a great game here.

Her odds are better than Dunkley's, and now's a great time to bet on Wyatt after her huge 76 runs in Game 2. She may not make that high a score again, but there's a strong chance she can still be the top batter. She averages 21.89 for T20I cricket and is usually reliable as a batter.
