ENG vs PAK Team Previews
England
England has had one of the worst World Cup campaigns in this edition. They were the defending champions but have managed to win just 2 of the 8 matches played so far. As a result, they are already eliminated from the race to the semifinals. Currently placed in the 7th place, England will look to win this match to book a spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Dawid Malan has risen above the mediocre batting performances around him and has scored 373 runs at an average of 46.62. He scored a half-century in the last match, his 3rd 50+ score of the tournament, and will once again be the key player for England during the Powerplay.
Johnny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, and Joe Root have struggled even against average bowling attacks and will be fighting an uphill battle as they face Pakistan’s pace battery. Ben Stokes finally broke the shackles and scored a brisk century in the last match. He will be the key player for England during the middle overs.
The form of the bowlers has been a bit patchy. David Willey will start the attack with the new ball alongside Chris Woakes. The duo has picked up 17 wickets between them. Adil Rashid is the leading wicket-taker for the team with 13 wickets, while Moeen Ali has 3.

Pakistan
With 3 teams vying for a 4th place finish, Pakistan faces a do-or-die situation in this match and will have to be at the top of their game. They are currently 5th on the points table and will need to win this match by a handsome margin to boost their chances of making it to the semifinals.
Powered by a brilliant century from Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan defeated New Zealand last weekend in a rain-curtailed match to remain in the hunt for the play-offs. With Zaman back in form, he and Abdullah Shafique will look to give the team a strong start.
Babar Azam scored an unbeaten half-century, his 4th of this tournament, and will play an important role in the middle order. Mohammad Rizwan is the top-scorer for the team with 359 runs, but the others, including Iftikhar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel, haven’t been very consistent.
Shaheen Shah Afridi had a forgettable outing against New Zealand but remains the top bowler for Pakistan with 16 wickets. He will open the attack with the new ball and will be supported by Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali. The spin department remains an Achilles heel for the team and will need to work harder during the middle overs to dry up the runs.

ENG vs PAK Toss Prediction
Teams batting first are at an advantage at the Eden Gardens, winning 20 of the 33 completed matches so far. We, therefore, feel that the winner of the toss will likely opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Eden Gardens favors the batsmen early on. There is a good amount of bounce and pace on offer and the ball comes nicely onto the bat. However, as the match progresses, the surface slows down and the spinners will be able to generate some turn. Anything over 260 will be tricky to chase.
The weather will be clear with plenty of sunshine and temperatures of between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.
ENG vs PAK Betting Tips
Both teams have lacked consistency in this tournament. They are also evenly matched in terms of strengths and weaknesses, making this one of the more difficult matches to call. However, we will be backing Pakistan to win this match. Their opening pair is in good form and Pakistan also has some quality batsmen in the middle order.
The prospect of booking a semifinal spot will likely bring out the best in them.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Both, Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman are in good touch of late. On the other hand, Johnny Bairstow in particular has struggled to perform. We are therefore backing Pakistan to put up a bigger opening partnership.
Adil Rashid is the leading wicket-taker for England in this tournament. He has picked up at least 2 wickets in 5 of his last 6 outings. As the pitch at Eden Gardens offers plenty of assistance to the slower bowlers, we are therefore backing him to bowl another good spell in this match.
The pitch at the Eden Gardens isn’t the easiest to bat on. Since the batsmen from both sides aren’t in the best of forms, we are predicting plenty of wickets to fall.
