The Madurai Panthers were thrashed by the Nellai Royal Kings in their opening fixture and are currently at the bottom of the points table. However, there are plenty of matches still to go, and Madurai will be looking to bounce back here.
Skipper Hari Nishanth played a valiant inning of 64 runs in the first match, albeit for a losing cause. He will be looking for better support from his opening partner, S Karthik. Madurai doesn’t have the strongest middle order in the league. Batsmen like K Deeban Lingesh, J Kousik, Swapnil Singh, and Sudhan Kandepan, while being good players, haven’t been consistent in the past.
They will need to up their game here if Madurai wants to win. A lot of responsibility will be hanging on the shoulders of Washington Sundar, who is one of the most experienced all-rounders in the league. He will be seen in the seam department along with Gurjapneet Singh and Dev Rahul.
