Derbyshire

Despite having some excellent players on their team, Derbyshire has failed to get favorable results in this tournament. They lost their first 3 matches on the trot and haven’t been able to recover in terms of their position on the points table. They are currently languishing in the 7th place, 5 points behind the top 2 teams.

They had an excellent chance of improving their standing on the table as they played against Durham in their latest fixture. But Derbyshire were unable to cross the line and the match ended in a thrilling tie.

Will Madsen has been brilliant with the bat this season. He has scored 451 runs so far and is second on the list of top scorers for this tournament. Harry Came, who was playing his first match of the season last time around looked to be in good touch and will be looking to give the team a good start here with his opening partner, Luis Reece.

While Haider Ali has done a decent job in the middle order, skipper Leus du Plooy and Brooke Guest have struggled to score runs. Derbyshire has one of the best pace attacks at its disposal as the likes of Zak Chappell, Zaman Khan, and George Scrimshaw have shown good form.

Together, the three seamers have picked up 44 wickets between them. The team does however lack quality spinners. 

Yorkshire

After losing their first 3 matches on the trot, Yorkshire has scripted a stunning comeback. They have won each of their next 6 matches and are now second on the points table, with only NRR separating them from the table toppers Warwickshire. A big win here will greatly improve Yorkshire’s chances of making it to the next stage.

Yorkshire’s batting has revolved around the strong performance of Dawid Malan. He is currently the top-scorer of the tournament with 488 runs. He has been instrumental in catapulting Yorkshire to some big totals this season. Malan will be joined by Adam Lyth at the top of the order.

The latter has played well in patches but the team will be hoping for a big inning from him here, like the 90 runs in 50 deliveries he made in the last match. The middle order consists of Shan Masood, James Wharton, Matthew Tattersall, and David Weise. The latter has been a good all-rounder, scoring 164 runs and also picking up 10 wickets.

Talking about the bowling, Jordan Thompson and Ben Mike have been good with the new ball and have picked up 28 wickets between them. They will be supported by Weise and Matthew Revis, while Dominic Bess and Jafer Chohan will be seen in the spin department.
