Central Sparks women won the toss in the match and decided to field first. Western Storm women were off to a decent start but there were no big contributions from the top and middle order. The score of 241 runs was developed largely due to the efforts of the lower middle order with several contributions of the 20s and 30s. Georgia Davis was once against the best bowler for Central Sparks picking up a couple of wickets for 32 runs from her 10 overs giving away just 32 runs. Katie George also picked up 2 wickets but she gave away 49 runs in her 8 overs.

The Central Sparks women lost an early wicket in their innings in the form of Bethan Ellis Smale. But Eve Jones and Abigail Freeborn were involved in a good second-wicket partnership of 83 runs. After Freeborn was dismissed, Eve Jones partnered with Maddy Green to take the score close to the target. Eve Jones played a good hand of 84 not out from 113 balls with 7 fours to take Sparks right through to a win. Abigali Freeborn scored 44 from 57 balls while Maddy Green hit 64 runs from 56 balls with 10 fours.

South East Stars

In the 49th game of Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy played a couple of days back, South East Stars took on Southern Vipers. This match was played at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. Southern Vipers won the toss and elected to bat first in Southampton. They raised a good score of 254 runs from 48.2 overs during their batting effort. Although South East Stars made a valiant effort to chase the score, they fell short and lost the game by a margin of 58 runs. The South East Stars women were bowled out for 196 runs from 47.2 overs.

The Southern Vipers succeeded in raising this score of 254 runs largely due to the efforts of the likes of Linsey Smith, Freya Kemp, Ella McCaughan, and the skipper Georgia Adams. The South East Stars' bowling effort was carried by Danielle Gregory who picked up 4 victims for 55 runs from her 10 overs. Another dependable bowler for South East Stars is <br /> Paige Scholfield who picked up 2 wickets for 31 runs from her 4.2 overs. Other bowlers such as Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Alexa Stonehouse, and Bethan Miles picked up 1 wicket apiece.

The South East Stars' reply to this target was in trouble immediately. They lost early wickets of the skipper Bryony Smith and the wicketkeeper batter Kira Chathli early with practically nothing on the board. But Jemima Spence and Aylish Cranston were involved in a good partnership for the 3rd wicket that realized 58 runs. But after these two left the crease, the game was practically over. The lower middle order and lower order tried their best to make a comeback but it was too late and the SES innings never got close to the target.
