The Central Districts' innings were opened by Jack Boyle and Curtis Heaphy. Jack Boyle scored 117 runs while opening the innings from 240 balls with 12 fours and one six. Most of the Central Districts' top and middle order got in but failed to continue with the innings. Auckland Aces

Auckland Aces played their last match against Northern Districts. It was the 22nd game of the Plunket Shield for the 2023 season and was played on Auckland's home turf. Auckland won this match by a margin of 71 runs. Batting first Auckland scored 350 runs for the loss of 5 wickets before declaring their innings. They did not get off to a good start and lost 4 wickets before a total of 100 runs was put on the board. However, George Worker and Simon Keene scored hundreds to take the team to a position of strength.

Northern Districts declared their innings on 213 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Bharat Popli was the top run-getter for them with 82 runs from 164 balls with 12 fours. The top bowler on the show for the Auckland team in this inning was Simon Keene. He picked up 2 wickets for Auckland giving away just 28 runs in his 10 overs. Auckland batters did a decent job in their second innings scoring 278 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. William O'Donnell scored a fifty at the top of the order from 83 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. The Auckland skipper Robert O'Donnell also scored 47 runs and William Sommerville hit a fifty lower down the order.

While chasing a massive target of 416 runs in their 4th innings Northern Districts made a game effort. They made a terrific start to their innings and were 193 for 1 at one stage. Bharat Popli was once again among runs hitting 101 runs from 148 balls with 10 fours and 1 six. However, the Auckland bowlers pulled back this spirited chase and the destroyer-in-chief for Auckland was Danru Ferns who picked up 5 wickets for 79 runs. He was well-aided in his efforts by Adithya Ashok who picked up 3 wickets for 88 runs from his 27.5 overs.
