Bangladesh will be very disappointed with their effort in the opening match. They were beaten quite convincingly by the visitors and will be hoping to bounce back here. However, they will now have to cope with Tamim Iqbal’s shock resignation too.
The top-order appeared to be in ordinary form, as senior batsmen like Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Shakib Al-Hasan were unable to convert their starts into a big inning. Towhid Hridoy was the only one who put up some sort of resistance, scoring a gritty half-century to get the hosts to a respectable total.
With the departure of Tamim, there will be added pressure on the likes of Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim to score runs. Rony Talukdar is expected to fill in at the top of the order. Coming to the bowling, Mustafizur Rahman bowled a good spell in the last match and will lead the pace attack here along with Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed.
Shakib Al-Hasan was brilliant with the ball, giving away just 9 runs in his 5 overs. But the target was too small to defend, especially with the DLS kicking in. He will be aided by Afif Hossain here.

There is a lot of firepower in Afghanistan’s bowling as the likes of Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi are in good form too.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran will look to give the team a strong start here. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rahman Shah, and Najibullah Zadran will add strength to the middle order, while all-rounders Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan add depth to the batting.
