AUS vs NL Team Previews

Australia

Australia didn’t have the best of starts to its campaign as it faced consecutive losses against India and South Africa in the first two matches. The team has since mounted a comeback, defeating Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the last two matches.

David Warner and Mitchell Marsh were in excellent form in the last game as they posted 259 runs for the first wicket, which was the second-highest partnership for the opening wicket in World Cups. Warner went on to score 163 of just 128 deliveries, which was his 7th 150+ score in ODIs.

Thanks to that solid base, Australia posted a match-winning 367 runs. The form of the middle order remains a concern for Australia. Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis have all struggled to perform with the bat. Josh Inglis and Marnus Labuschagne have got a couple of solid starts but will need to play better.

Adam Zampa has been the pick of the bowlers for Australia with 9 wickets. The famed pace attack of the Aussies, while being in decent form, hasn’t been in the best of forms. Mitchell Starc has picked up 6 wickets, while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood have picked up 5 each.

Netherlands

Despite facing 3 losses in 4 matches, there are plenty of positives for the Netherlands in this World Cup. The biggest one undoubtedly was its stunning win over a rampant South African team last week.

Vikramjit Singh and Max O’Dowd haven’t been in the best of forms and have struggled to give the Netherlands a strong start. Their role will be important in this match as the team faces a strong seam attack. Colin Ackermann has done well in the number 3 slot and is also the leading run-scorer for the team.

Scott Edwards has led his team from the front by being a consistent performer in the middle order. Sybrand Engelbrecht, who is making his ODI debut in this tournament, scored a half-century in the last match and looks a promising performer.

The Netherlands will depend on two of its key all-rounders, Logan van Beek and Bas de Leede to deliver the goods during the middle overs.

Bas de Leede is the leading wicket-taker for the Netherlands with 7 wickets. He will be supported by Paul van Meekeren and van Beeke in the pace attack. Aryan Dutt will head the spin department. He has picked up 6 wickets so far.

AUS vs NL Toss Prediction

6 of the last 8 matches played on this ground have been won while batting first. We, therefore, think that the winner of the toss will likely opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch in Delhi is flat and hard, offering a good amount of pace and bounce. There is very little in it for the quicker bowlers and they will need to work hard to get wickets. The team batting first will look to get over 300 runs. The surface does slow down in the second innings, giving the spinners some skin in the game.

The weather will remain warm and cloudy with temperatures of between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius.

AUS vs NL Betting Tips

While the men in Orange have shown a great deal of grit and determination, they are no match for the world-class Australian team, who are likely to prevail here.
