ADS vs BH Team Previews
After making it to the knockouts for 3 consecutive seasons, the Adelaide Strikers had a disappointing outing last time around as they finished 7th on the points table. As they embark on a fresh journey, the Strikers will hope to make a winning start.
At the outset, the Strikers’ prospects received a significant setback as their talismanic spinner Rashid Khan has pulled out for the entire season due to an injury, and that undoubtedly will be a big void to fill. With that fact set aside, the Strikers are still a dangerous team, especially in their backyard.
They have a strong batting unit, thanks to the presence of Chris Lynn and Matt Short at the top of the order. They will be joined by D’Arcy Short, who comes in from the Hobart Hurricanes. The others in the line-up include Jake Weatherald, Jamie Overton, and Adam Hose.
There will be added pressure on the two specialist spinners, Ben Manteti and Cameron Boyce to perform well in the absence of Rashid Khan. On the positive side, the Strikers have a pretty strong pace attack. Henry Thornton and Brendan Doggett are among the quickest bowlers in the league and will be supported by James Bazley and David Payne.

Brisbane Heat secured a huge win against the Melbourne Stars in the season opener, that not only gave them 2 points but also had a great impact on the NRR. However, the Strikers are likely to prove a tough opponent and the visitors will need to be at the top of their game.
Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne were among the runs on Thursday night but their participation in Saturday’s game is doubtful due to the upcoming Test match with Pakistan. Colin Munro was in a belligerent mood as he scored an unbeaten 99 to power his team to a massive total.
Brisbane will also avail the services of Sam Billings, Max Bryant, and Paul Walter to add quick runs towards the end of the innings. Michael Neser and Xavier Bartlett are likely to start the proceedings with the new ball. Both of them picked up 2 wickets each in the last match and will hope to do the same.
Mitchell Swepson had a forgettable outing in the last season but has started well, picking up 3 wickets. He is likely to be retained as the specialist spinner.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Adelaide Oval is generally good to bat on. There is some help for the quicker bowlers early on in the match. However, as the ball gets older and softer, it will be easier for the batsmen to play their shots. The team batting first will look to score around 170 runs to give the bowlers a fair chance of defending.
The weather is likely to remain overcast and there is a forecast for rain. The temperature is likely to remain around the 15-degree mark.
