India vs England Preview: 1st Test Day 2

India won an important toss and batted first on a placid pitch. They also got off to a good start and looked untroubled. At its best, India would have batted any opposition out of the match. Multiple touring teams have suffered this fate but that was not what happened on Day 1. Indian batters (except for Yashasvi Jaiswal) kept on getting starts and then getting out.

In fact, most of those dismissals were against the run of play when the India batters looked completely at ease.

As a result, England will not be too unhappy with 336-6 at the close of play.

India vs England Day 2 Preview and Betting Tips

India has Yashasvi Jaiswal and R Ashwin at the crease with just Bumrah, Kuldeep, and Mukesh to follow. Fair to say, the pair at the crease is the last recognized one. We expect England to test out the Indian duo with Jimmy Anderson at one end to start off Day 2. There is no doubt that Ashwin can bat but he has not been in the best of form off-late.

The Over/Under on Yashasvi Jaiswal at Parimatch is currently 209.5. He is batting on 179 right now so that is another 31 runs. It is certainly not an outrageous amount of runs and we think betting Over is the way to go. He is naturally aggressive and will maximize his scoring opportunities once Ashwin gets out.

This also brings us to the Over/Under of the partnership. 1xbet is offering the line at 358.5. That is just 23 runs but you are essentially betting on the English bowlers to go wicketless in the first half an hour. Looking at the wicket, you can certainly take a punt here as well.

What can you expect from England's batters whenever they get a chance?

Aggressive batting and taking the bowling on, no matter what the score is in front of them. The markets on England's batting inning are not available right now but this is where you want to play sessions. England has been scoring at a run-rate of close to 4 consistently so look for that line in sessions of 5-10 overs.

Good luck!
