The Jamaica Tallawahs barely made it through to the playoffs in the last season. They managed to win just 4 of the 10 matches played during the group stages and finished 4th on the points table. However, they peaked in form just at the right time. The Tallawahs defeated the St. Lucia Kings in the Eliminator and the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Qualifier 2 to set up a date with the Barbados Royals in the Finals. In the end, the Tallawahs won quite convincingly by 8 wickets to lift their 3rd title.
Bet on the CPLJust like the last season, the Tallawahs have picked up a balanced squad with plenty of match-winners. The team management has retained Brandon King, who was the leading run-getter of the tournament last year, and will lead the team. He will be supported by Shamarh Brooks, Raymon Reifer, and Ben Cutting. Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir, who were the top two wicket-takers for the team last season have also been retained. The spin attack, consisting of the likes of Fabian Allen, Christopher Green, and Imad Wasim has been further strengthened with the inclusion of Hayden Walsh Jr.
While there are plenty of options when it comes to spin, the Jamaica Tallawahs lack variety when it comes to the pace department. There are only two quality seamers on the squad, namely Mohammad Amir and Naveen ul-Haq. They will have to depend on part-timers Ben Cutting and Raymon Reifer to fill in during the middle overs. Also, while there are quite a few all-rounders on the squad, the middle order lacks an anchor like Rovman Powell, who has been traded to the Barbados Royals.

Bet on the CPLBrandon King was the top-scorer for the Tallawahs as well as of the tournament during the last season, where he scored 422 runs in 12 innings. He has carried on with his good form over the last year and has scored 392 runs in his last 13 T20I innings at an average of 32.66. Looking at his good form, we are backing him to once again lead the scoring charts at the Tallawahs.
Amir picked up 16 wickets in 11 innings during the last season and was the second-highest wicket-taker for the team. However, his strike rate was among the best, picking up a wicket every 14 deliveries. His attacking form has continued since then and he was also the leading wicket-taker for his team, the Karachi Kings, during the PSL. Amir has plenty of experience bowling on the Caribbean wickets and that is the reason we are backing him to be the top wicket-taker.
Over the last few years, Wasim has emerged as one of the most reliable all-rounders in the T20 format. He has plenty of experience playing franchise cricket all around the world, including in the CPL. He was the leading wicket-taker for the Tallawahs last season. Wasim can play the role of a finisher with the bat and has scored a total of 3191 runs in his career.
The young seamer from Afghanistan has gathered plenty of T20 experience. He was in good form during the most recent seasons of the IPL as well as the Vitality T20 Blast. Naveen can be the perfect partner for Mohammad Amir and will be effective on the fast and bouncing pitches in West Indies.
