Betting Tips

Total wickets Under 15.5 (2.10)

Only 1 of the past 6 matches played at the Riverside Ground has seen 16 or more wickets fall. Also, 3 of the last 6 matches between the two teams have seen less than 15 wickets fall. We are therefore expecting 15 wickets to fall.

Total runs in the highest-scoring over of the match Under 19.5 (1.78)

The Aussies could be safe choice to hit the most number of boundary fours in the second match of the five-match ODI series. England hit 27 fours in the opening game. Travis Head alone, hit 20 fours in that game and Australia hit 34 fours.

ENG vs AUS Team Previews

England

England hasn’t been in the best of forms in the 50-over format over the past few months. In the ongoing 5-match series, they are trailing by 0-2 and will be fighting to salvage the situation.

Despite playing on some good pitches, England’s batting has been pretty ordinary so far. Ben Duckett is the leading run-scorer for the team with 127 runs. However, he has received little support from his opening partner, Phil Salt.

Similarly, while the middle order has some strong performers like Jamie Smith, Harry Brook, Will Jacks, and Liam Livingstone, they have failed to convert their starts into big scores. At this stage, the England batting lineup does not inspire much confidence in us, especially against a pretty strong Australian bowling unit.

Talking about the bowling, Brydon Carse bowled a good spell in the previous match to pick up 3 wickets but was quite expensive. He will be joined by Olly Stone and Matthew Potts in the pace department. Adil Rashid and Jacob Bethell are the two full-time spinners on the team.

Australia

Australia has been clinical in the last couple of matches and hasn’t broken a sweat as they bulldozed through the host’s defenses. They are now on the cusp of winning the third consecutive bilateral series against England.

Batting has been one of Australia’s biggest strengths in this series. The openers have given the team a strong start in both the games and will hope to do the same in this match as well. Travis Head is the leading run-scorer of the tournament and if he gets going, Australia could be looking at posting a big score.

Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey scored individual half-centuries in the previous match and seemed to be in fine form. They will be supported by the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne, making up a very strong middle order.

Coming to the bowling, Australia has a strong seam attack consisting of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Aaron Hardie. The trio picked up 7 wickets among themselves in the previous game and will once again play an important role. Adam Zampa remains the sole full-time spinner.

ENG vs AUS Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Riverside Ground is well-balanced, providing equal opportunities to the bowlers and the batsmen. The quicker bowlers will get some help with the new ball, as it does swing around a bit. However, once the ball gets a bit old, batting will get a tad bit easier.

The spinners can expect some help provided they bowl a good line and length. The average first-inning score on this ground is around 240.

However, the team batting first will look to score around 280. The weather is likely to be overcast and there is a high probability of interruption due to rain.

ENG vs AUS Betting Tips

Australia has been clinical in its performance in the first two matches and we expect them to continue playing well. They have outclassed England in all aspects of the game and the latter will find it difficult to bounce back.
